I just wanted to say that I was little upset today at work. Three girls that I work with that are around my age are all divorce.
This one girl got married this past November and left her husband because she felt it wasnt right. Then why do people get married? It just made me think? I love FH to death but it just upsets me that these girls were only married less than a year!!!

Re: SO RANDOM
I know what you mean. We just got word that a young couple we know are getting divorced too. We thought they would last FOREVER. I hate when people treat marriage like it is a disposable covenant. It is not a FAIRYTALE, it is a lot of work and you BOTH have to be willing to want to make it work especially during the rocky times. Other than infedelity or mental/physical/emotional abuse I don't think divorce should ever be an option.

Re: SO RANDOM
I know how you feel...I work with all women and a couple are divorced. Some were only married a few years. It is sad, but marriage is work and you have to be willing to put in the time and effort.
When my FI and I went for the FOCCUS program at my church the priest told us to write eachother a letter about why we love eachother and why we are getting married. On our first anniversary we are supposed to open the letters. He said then when times are tough we should refer to these letters to reafirm our love for one another and remind us of why we made this commitment.

I totally agree! You wanna hear something crazy?...When my FH and I went to the church to make the date set and everything...the priest looks at us and says 'So you two wanna get married huh?' and we both smiled and said 'Yes' and then he looks at us and laughs and says 'Why? Are you sure?' or something along those lines like. I know he was just joking but I was like, whoa even the church says that now?!
I just put it out of my mind as much as possible!
ETA: Please don't think I am speaking bad of the church in any way, I just thought it was strange that the priest made that joke. I truly didn't mean anything negative!

I know what you mean. This is supposed to be a happy and exciting time for me and my two best friends are on the verge of divorce. One has been married just over 5 years and the other only just a little over a year.
