a nine yr. old boy shot himself in his parents home, i personally think the parents should be charged, the guns should be unloaded and locked up and bullets locked up as well this is so sad and happening to much. if parents are going to have fire arms in a home be responsible.

I dont think the parents should be charged. Their punishment is knowing that this could have all been avoided if they were more responsible. My dad had a gun and he hid it in this talking parrot toy I had. My sister and I knew it was there but knew better than to touch it.

my family are advid hunters, and i know how important gun safety is for them, yeah , i guess your right there punishment is a life sentence, i didnt think of that, i just hope others learn the importance of gun safety, especially when there are children in the home.

yea..with all the accidents like this that happen i wish people would realize how important it is to keep guns in places where children don't have access to them and even then they should not be loaded and the ammo should never be where kids can find it.. why take that chance. I do feel that the parents will suffer for the rest of their lives and that is def. punishment enough this is just soo terribly sad.. i hope people can learn from the tragedies other have suffered.

it is horrible because not even 2mos. ago a 13 yr old and his friends got into a gun at his parents house and was accidentally shot from his friend, that child will be scarred for life, then 3 weeks ago in the projects a 4 yr. old found a gun on the playground and fired it, thank jesus no one was hurt, and his poor mom was on the news crying and cursing the gangs, i'm so w/ her on that.

thats horrible.... i think with so many violent videogames that kids get their hands on they think guns are cool too... its a shame.
