So sad :(

My mom just called and I just got the saddest response - my great grandmother isn't coming to my wedding. I was so excited for her to come as her daughter (my grandmother) passed away a few years ago.

I understand that she is 101 (yes 101 years old!!!) and its probably too much but I was getting her a special bouquet and was looking forward to having her in the family pics.

Oh well I'm going to make it a point to see her this weekend and show her some pics of me in my dress and pictures of FH.

Sorry to hear that. I had planned for my 95 year old grandfather to at least be at my ceremony, the reception would have been too much, but he passed away last month. No more grandparents left for me.
Is it out of the question for your gram to come to the ceremony or is it at the reception hall?

Maybe you can call her, once you tell her about your special things you were planning, she might change her mind. how faw away does she live?

How close (proximity) is she? Can you maybe make a brief detour to her on your wedding day and present her the special bouquet. And she can see you in your wedding gown for real!

Or is it possible to hire an aide to assist her to the ceremony only?

PS....you are lucky to have your Great-Grandmother still with you!! God Bless her....

Sorry your great grandmother isn't coming. Maybe you can arrange a day to have a family portrait done of all the generations (you ,your mom, your grandma and your great grandma).
That would be really special.

Don't just show her pix,make sure she meets the lucky man Sorry she will not be there. You can still have some flowers for her this weekend.

I am sooo sorry that your great-grandmother can't be there. Is is possible for you two to stop by there between the service and the reception if it is not to far out of the way?
