will be closed for my honeymoon!!!!!! Well, they are just switching owners - I think the resort will still be there! I hope its still all inclusive. I wanted to go there - it looks gorgeous!!!!

secrets is closing down...so if you ever wanna go back there i say do it for yout 1 yr Ann....Dec 31 they close for good...im so upset bc i wanted to go for our HM since the price was right!!
would you think about a cruise? you can get good deal for that time a year! Then again if your a drinker thats not included!
This is not true. Secrets is being sold to the Excellence Group. They are taking over their Punta Cana and Mayan Riviera resorts as of this fall and are not making any big changes to them. I have booked the Excellence Riviera Maya for next March! Cant wait!

thanks...thats funny b/c i called them a few months ago and they told me as of Dec 31,2006 no more bookings as they are selling...

my moms a TA and she called amd they said its being bought over but not under Secrets!?!

When I went to request a reservation rate for Dec 2007 for Secrets Excellence Cancun it said

Yes for the one in Cancun. I heard about the one in DR but I wasnt upset because I wanted the one in Cancun! BUT THATS WHAT IT SAID FOR BOTH!!!

We went there for our honeymoon and it was beautiful! I highly recommend it. There is another secrets resort open in riveria maya, it's new. I forgot the name of it, it starts with an M. Check that one out and see if it's available. Good luck

I just returned from there and what i heard was that the original investors were buying the place. I dont think anything is changing and they are also building a new Secrets in Riveiera Cancun too. Does your travel agent know anything?
Michele which one did you go to? Did you go to the one that already exists in Cancun? Are they building another one?

Yes it will be . That was me that posted the nfo about the new management.
If you call Secrets, they WILL tell you they are closing because technically they are. They have no obligation to forward you information on the new management. If you look on www.funjet.com or another one of the resort wholesalers look for 'Excellence Riviera Maya' or 'Excellence Punta Cana'... SAME RESORT NEW MANAGEMENT I SWEAR!
The changeover happens this fall and the new website will be www.excellence-resorts.com.
There is TONS of info on this on tripadvisor.com

i was so bummed about this too!!! i wanted to go there for my HM. but since i'm not 100% sure how it will be under new management. i didn't want to risk my HM!
