So Sick of Looking for a Photographer

So Sick of Looking for a Photographer

So I really like this Photographer and it turns out that he has the same name as my FH (a Polish name that's not common) so I thought that was a sign. This will be the 4th photog that we will meet with, and I was planning on scheduling an appt. with him but then he sends me an email saying, 'Someone else is interested in our date.' So he wants to schedule Sept. 1st to meet. Me and FH both don't believe this and FH is saying that he's scheming which I think too. But I love his work and other 2010 LIWedding girls loved him as their photog. He's also really inexpensive and doesn't require that you pur chase an album. I still want to meet with him, but now FH doesn't. We had an argument over this last night where I became so frustrated and told him I give up on shopping for a photog.

Have u seen North Island Photography, their work is amazing and his prices are not bad either. Michael is the owner and he's the photographer as well. We're booking with him.

I totally understand, we went to 3 different ones before we booked.

Personally, I wouldn't even go back if I were you, I agree that they sound scheming. I walked out of the first place because they told us that if we booked that day they would take $200 off the price, and ONLY if we booked that day...yeah, whatever, take your $200 and stick it. You are buying wedding pics that you will have forever, not a car!!!

Thats just my opinion. Good luck , I know how frustrating it can be!

have you checked out lighthouse photog? They have good prices and I love their work?

trust me when i tell you dont assume they are scheming.
I had 2 vendors pull that card, i thought they were bluffing because i heard the same line 20x already, they both booked a few days later and didnt even call me to tell me someone was ready to sign on the dotted line.

I think they (sometimes) try to honestly do the right thing and tell you, us crazy girls think they are lying- they sense it.. get mad, and book without warning.

Look at it like this : If you like him and his price is right, why is it so hard to believe someone else did too?

good point. never really thought of it like that! I just hate it when vendors get pushy, it really annoys me, not make me want to book.

, the second was too laid back and told my FH 'why would anyone want to buy a wedding photo album these days when you can make your own on shutterfly or snapfish,'

I think this is who we booked, and I actually totally agree with him. I'd rather pay for the photography service than an album. I love organizing them myself online and making my own album, with a wide variety of covers etc. etc. Probably not with shutterfly but blurb.com or American Photobooks

Totally agree, yes you can make your own. FH really wants a nice album, and I'm sure you can make one just as nice, but I know us and we will never sit there and make our own, thats why we want the photographer to do it. The vendor had beautiful work, and the price was good, but him just saying that made us not book because we really want an album made. Thats all I was trying to say, sorry if it came out wrong

I think you should meet him. You'll have a better sense of whether you're both comfortable with him. I could see the possibility of him scheming or him telling the truth.

Sorry didn't mean to sound like I was coming down on you, I just think it's interesting how some things that are turn offs for some, and totally plus points for others!

Crashing here, I recommend him as well. Look at my Wedding Pro album, it speaks for itself.

Also the album pages themselves are gorgeous. (I agree you can make an album yourself but not a gorgeous digital album like were going to get.) We just met him to go over our proofs and make changes and they are so easy to work with and the pages are BEAUTIFUL. We just hit the year mark, but my husband works in CT, so we were a bit behind picking pics and meeting with them.
