Is anyone else feeling really stressed about how much this wedding is costing them? I have just been so stressed lately. Trying to save for the wedding pay my bills and now paying rent is killing me. I know it will all work out in the end and I will be able to save up but I feel like I need to make some serious cut backs. I already am doing my own invites, all paper stuff, centerpieces, decorations for church and reception,and prob favors. Is there anything else I could do myself??? What are you girls doing to ease the stress?

Don't be silly! I have 1,000,000 in the bank waiting to be spent!!
JK-- yes... we have our e-party this weekend and that even cost a lot. It will all work out.

yea... i've been stressing so much! i even contemplate certain things i buy these day, evaluating if it's really necessary, or if it would be better spent twds the wedding....

yea, this wedding is costing MUCH more than my downpayment...
hard to justify...if you really break it down. all this money just for a 1 night party... the wedding industry really does bank from all of us!

Yes... i have not even start planning the wedding and I am lil stress out... But My FH and I have our feet on the ground and know what are we able to afford and what we can NOT afford... that is why we are not going over $5,000 budget... (unless we win the lottery or get a BIG raise at work!)
Eparty is coming too and we have a budget for that too... Some peopl may think that We are being 'cheap' becasue we are having a low budget wedding but truth is we cannot afford a $10,000, $20,000 $30,000 or more wedding.... We prefer putting that money towards our Future: Our House...

yeaaa, i was feeling like that a few months ago. I sat down with FH and we made a spreadsheet and went thru how much $ comes in each month, less bills/rent/groceries, etc. Then set a reasonable goal to save each month. I also made a savings plan to keep us on track and on the first of each month, check to see if I'm ok or behind (most likely behind lol) schedule. This really helped me with my stress bc i saw that we can catch up to the 'schedule'. just less shopping boo it will all work itself out some way or another, don't let it stress you too much!

that's a smart move. saving for a house is always a smarter move, as that's an asset that is worth something later on.
luckily i already purchased a place... though i do want to buy another one...but i guess after the wedding, it'll be a looooong time before i start looking at homes again.

Luckily I had a pretty decent job as a starbucks store manager making 45ks at 20 years old. I put as much money as possible into my 401k and youcan take it out to buy your first home so I have about 50k in a 401k towards first house

ugh the $ stress is killing me! I already own a house and honestly, I love it but geez it's been a money pit this past year. I mean I've had elec probs, cess pool probs, water leaking probs. Appliance probs. It never ends!!!! Plus, being sick really doesn't help. It's so freaking expensive.
FH is a dreamer and he wants an insane wedding and I keep knocking him down. I feel bad but damn, hoe much $ does he think we have? The sad thing is that I really make a decent salary and so does he, yet we seem to be struggling bc of this unexpected stuff.

to ease the stress we are having a small wedding. only 80 guest-
We have a budget and it's not very big. Yes we have to save and budget, but it's not like we are strapped for cash.
We will not go into our 1st year of marriage-still paying for the wedding.
While having a fairytale princess wedding is a dream many girls have- I just want a nice day with those i love.
I know it will be beautiful - but not at all over the top

thanks girls at least im not the only one whos stressed. I sat my FH down a month ago and added up all the bills and rent and everything we pay a month and he was so suprised so I thought I finally got through to him to go and get a second job or one that pays more than $10 an hour I mean come on who can survive on that. But he hasnt and then this month I have so much I am debating on going back to school again too because I cannot find a teaching job I graduated almost 4 years ago and still nothing I mean I have a job working with autistic kids and I love it its great pay but I hate worring about how many kids I will have in the summer or if I will still have a job in sept with all the cuts the state is making. Sry vent over but thanks for listening everyone!!

I completely feel u with the house. Between oil, elec, and a deadbeat FBIL living downstairs who doesn't help us out at all!!!!! PLus the TAXES!!!! NYS IS INSANE WITH TAXES. We live in a crap neighborhood and my taxes are still 6,000.00+ a yr!!!! and they just keep going up!!!!! Plus we need a new hot water heater 2!!!!!!! I have had it with everything, between wedding planning and trying to keep up with the house and everything else, i am ready to give up on everything!!!! BUT FH wants a 'real' wedding, but i am the one doing it all when it comes to planning when i will be happy with JOP and dinner at a restaurant b/c i am really really sick of dealing with this crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
