So I've visited 5 RH so far and have not fallen in love with any. I went to Sand Castle,Woodbury CC,Jericho Terrace,The Inn at NHP,and Crest Hollow CC. They were all nice in their own way but I hate SC's street location,Woodbury halls thrive on paying 6-8k for decor on top of pp price,The Inn was too expensive and not feeling the st location neither, and CHCC was beautiful outside, and beautiful drive in entrance, but the ballroom looked so BAD to me, and I hated JT lobby and chair covers and linens in rooms looked so cheap and rundown, so now I'm stuck. I will be visiting North Ritz and Bridgeview YC this weekend. I'm looking for a RH with beautiful grounds, updated and elegant ballroom, good view and big bridal suite. Basically a place like Chateau Briand :) (btw thats not an option as my bro was married there)...any suggestions in Nassau County? If anything which would you pick based off my criteria above, WCC,SC,JT, BYC, or NRC??? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Re: So STRESSED! :( Need Venue help ASAP
Russo's is great i had my sweet 16 there.. i didnt want our wedding there just for that reason otherwise i would have defiantly booked it. We chose Fox Hollow because of the grounds and the hotel right next door since we are from brooklyn and most of our guest are from there and jersey we knew this was best. We fell in love with the rh because of the grounds and garden terrace room. We went to see the swan club the grounds were absolutely gorgeous but the rooms not so much and very cramped. We also went and say woodbury cc and the rooms turned us off they werent set up and we werent feeling them.
GL on your search you will know when its the right hall for you.

you just became my hero? 30 places? I can't begin to imagine the paper alone you acquired from all those places

I went to over 30 locations (dragging fh to all of them) before deciding. take yout time but remember- no place is perfect. I made a + and - list for every place i went. its just a matter of deciding what is most important to you.

Re: So STRESSED! :( Need Venue help ASAP
Hello!!
I got married this past Halloween at Terrace on the Park. Our cocktail hour was held in the garden suite which is three rooms, gorgeous. Our reception was held in the Penthouse Suite. The Penthouse has its own 2 personal elevators taking you to the suite. The suite has its own kitchen and chef. The room is like an octagon shape and is gorgeous, with an almost midnight sky chandelier. The best part is that it has the most amazing terrace overlooking Manhattan and Flushing Meadow Park. If the weather is nice, cocktail hour (hot food) and a bar is set up outside and the other half of the cocktail hour (cold food) is held in the foyer. Vienesse hour is included in the price per person. I cant say enough about them. Speak with Norm Baum when you go, He is excellent and really goes above and beyond. BTW, huge parking lot!!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!

The Woodlands seemed really nice on the website, but I dont really like their chairs..flowerfield is nice but unfortunately too far as we're coming from Brooklyn....and I ve checked Royalton's site out and it seems nice as well...does anyone know if you have to customize your linens and chair covers at the Woodlands or Royalton? I liked the pictures shown in the ballroom at the Royalton best but was wondering if the room is automatically set up with those chairs and linens or if that was a personal adjustment of the party...also can anyone post of FM me pricing on the places above, food reviews, staff reviews..if they are not too expensive I will visit, Thanks!
Woodlands had their chairs redone in Sept 2010. Not sure if you've visited or if you're just basing this based on the website. I really didn't care for the chairs pre-sept but in my opinion, the new ones are pretty gorgeous and look fantastic with the wood-paneling and overall decor.

Have you tried the Swan Club? They have beautiful grounds, are not over-the-top, and not crazy expensive.

Re: So STRESSED! :( Need Venue help ASAP
Since I was an NRC bride, I'll give you an overview of my experience...
LOVED that it's only one wedding at a time there, the price was right on the money for us, plus they threw in TONS of extras, maitre'D and bridal attendant were great on the day of the wedding... everything went so smooth, couldn't have expected it to go any better!
When we got to NRC after the church, they got us right up to the bridal suite, all of our CH food and drinks waiting for us. There were 12 people in my BP, plus me and DH, and as far as I could tell, we all had plenty of room, and good space to put everyone's stuff.
As far as the cocktail hour goes, the CH room is nice and big, plenty of space in there, they added a new bar... and I love the outdoor CH area, beautiful grounds, a gazebo, etc. However, it is completely true - it's right on Jericho Tpke, so if that's a big deal to you, it may deter you, but from what I could tell, no one even thought twice about it... it was night time and they had music playing, so I think most people were focused on having a good time, not the road just beyond the trees and the pond (But that's just me).
I love the ballroom - large dance floor, which was a huge deal to me... gotta have room to dance!
FM me if you want any other details... good luck in your search!

Re: So STRESSED! :( Need Venue help ASAP
picking the venue can be stressful. i do agree with an earlier post saying to make a list of your priorities and than decide. if you dont love any places you have seen so far keep looking! yes it is a tiring experience but you will find someplace you are happy with. I looked at about 20 venues and ended up at the 2nd place i visited! i always liked it but thought i could find something else...but when it came down to it and i thought about my priorities the 2nd place was it for me.
you may want to check out this site...i found it helpful bc it was a list of a lot of venues and it had a ballpark price listed (which was a very important factor for me) sites & services
good luck!!!

And here's a tip for this site... we're all here to help each other... just try to keep in mind that some of the places you didn't like for whatever reason are other bride's dream venues... so express your opinion, but maybe consider doing it a little more gently. Not a criticism, just an observation. Good luck!
.
THIS!!! If it wasnt for this post from J ... my response was going to be a tad bit heavy... many of us are booked here!

Re: So STRESSED! :( Need Venue help ASAP
Look at places dont go by the website. I didn't even want to look at my venue but my mother insisted and I practically booked on the spot. Since you seem to be look at Nassau I say look at Swan Club, Leonards and Westbury Manor.
Also, I agree with Jamie. Remember that people are in absolute love and awe with their venues and may get very upset at such harsh critisisms. Yes, it's your opinion but be delicate:)
Good luck in your seach!

Re: So STRESSED! :( Need Venue help ASAP
Again my review of the above mentioned places are JUST MY OPINION...theres no need to feel offended....if I loved a place I wouldnt feel offended if someone else didnt like it...one thing I have learned from my RH searching is that what may be the best place for one, may not be the same for another...
