So, the dilema was solved and my STD's

So, the dilema was solved and my STD's

are officially OUT! woo hoo

I just wanted to add that I realized I got myself worked up anticipating making some social faux pas, which was very silly.

In the end, I went with my comfort level in deciding how to address each envelope. If I felt close or the person/couple was a friend and peer, I addressed in Jack and/ Jill Smith. for older adults, fh's partners, and for people I already knew were sticklers for formality, I addressed it Mr. & Mrs. Jack Smith.

the fonts and everything were the same- the only difference can when I typed the words in, so it was really no skin off my back, and it's HIGHLY doubtful that anyone will ever know there was a difference...and I felt so much better b/c I knew they were addressed they way they should be for each of my guests.

I think I will remember that next time...instead of using Emily Post as my 'etiquette barometer', I am just going to do what I am most comfortable with.

Good for you Jess. You should always do what feels 'comfortable'. It is your wedding!
