I'd like to shoot whoever came up with the idea of an objective. My objective is to GET A JOB!!! I hate writing objectives.
I've heard mixed opinions on whether you need one or not. Have you scoped out some monster articles?

I never had an objective on my resume...and have done very well.

I think it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for something very specific I would put that on there....if not....don't sweat it....get your resume out there and add it later if it you aren't getting many hits.

I am not in HR, so it's all just an opinion.

No objective on mine, and I don't advise my students to write one.

I've heard mixed opinions as well. I think the consensus is if you're going to have one, you should tailor it to each position and employer - don't make a bland, generic statement. But that can be a pain if you're applying to a bunch of different places.

No objective on mine, and I had a professional resume' writer help me write mine.

My DH is in HR and looks at resumes all day long. He said no objective is perfectly fine,although he does find some of them humerous.

Okay, so the SUMMARY I pulled off of one of my former co-workers resumes posted on monster should suffice!! (DH has employer access to view resumes)
