What do I need to be prepared with?? I feel like vendors always ask me questions that I haven't thought of the answers to.. I'm meeting with about 3 or 4 florists this summer and this is only my first one but I want to do it right :)

So today I'm meeting with a florist...
I am interested in this too as I haven't met with any florists yet, but once we get dresses for the BM's, that's next!

So today I'm meeting with a florist...
I always ask if their delivery trucks are designated one per wedding, how many weddings a day? Can I see my preview centerpieces & bouquets 1-2 week before the wedding? just to make sure its what i want & make changes if needed? can I see their production area just to see how organized they are & take a look at how fresh their flowers are, do they charge per flower? Even flowers not in season?, make sure everything is written on the contract! Try to get as much as you can for you $$, I always say I got a coupon at a bridal expo but I forgot it and 99% of the time they value it and discount at least $250-500 off the total price, it's something

A lot of the questions we asked were....
How long have you been making wedding arrangements? What style do you specialize in? Ask to see a portfolio Are they familiar with ceremony/reception location? How much do they charge for their service, flat rate or per item fee? What is the cost of each item? Can the florist provide an aisle runner, candles, candlesticks/holder, etc? Can they work with your budget? How far in advance will they make the bouquet and centerpiece? Will the florist make a sample for me to see? When will the flowers be delivered? Is there a delivery fee? What time will the florist return to pick up any rentals? Will they make a toss bouquets? Is there a fee for that? How many weddings do they do a day/weekend? Can they recommend seasonal flowers to help me save money? Do they have creative and original ideas? How much is the required deposit? When is the balance due? How can I pay? When do I need to give them a final table count?
Hope this helps!!

MAKE SURE everything is written in that contract!! We got a slight discount and a few things thrown in. I recently found out the girl who was helping us left or got fired. If we didn't have that stuff in the contract we would be screeeeewed!

I would say to always bring pictures and ask what can be done to lower prices. Sometimes very similar flowers to what you're looking at are in season and will cost less or if you're just looking for the color of the bouquet rather than the particular blooms they can make some adjustments and give you a better deal.
