So upset

With 4 days to go until my RSVP date, no one is coming to the wedding.

FI's family were all so excited about the wedding when we first started planning, but now, no one is coming. We have about 14 - 18 people on his side (including the BP).

I am so livid. I'm not even going to be at half of my minimum, but I am more mad that my FI is so upset that so few people are coming for the wedding.

Yes, I understand that it is across the country, but we are having it in NY so that my family can make it from overseas. NY is actually in the middle of the 2 families.

And, we gave them more than enough notice. We set a date last September, and STDs went out the second week in January.

We had 2 GM back out already because they couldn't afford it, which I understand, but now none of his friends are going to make it either. I feel awful since I'm the one from NY, hence the reason the wedding is in NY, but I have friends from all parts of the country coming in for the wedding.

Just had to vent. We should have just gone to Vegas...

I'm talking about RSVPs that we've already gotten. There are about 5 more people left on his side to RSVP, and we already know they aren't coming.

AWWWW I'm sorry. If you don't make your minimum-I would turn to work friends, friends of friends. Us LIW girls will come. Don't worry about it. If you have a back-up list that is great, otherwise, I ould try and get your hall to lower the minimum or throw in extras to make-up for some of the missing guests.

Im so sorry you are going thru this I would be just as upset, but I know you are still going to have a wonderful wedding. Do you have a B list to send out?

I'm so sorry... I hope that some people come through with suprise 'yes' s to bring up your FH's spirits.

that is terrible. i am so sorry.

i'm sooo sorry. i know how devestating it feels to get those 'no's'. i've posted before about being worried about not making our minimum. we have a week and a half until the rsvp date with close to 70 rsvps outstanding and i don't have a great feeling about meeting our minimum at all. everyone says it doesn't matter who's there, just as long as the 2 of you are happy and say those vows. and yeah, that's true to an extent - it's about you and FH. but i know how much it truly hurts when close friends and family can't be there to share such a special time.
hopefully you can talk to your hall and get them to lower the minimum or throw in extras, like the other girl says. or if you have some co-workers or friends that you didn't invite, now you can. if not, just try to keep that chin up and focus on who will be there and just how beautiful and wonderful your day will be, no matter what.

Talk to your hall about not being able to make the minimum and remember this day is about you and your FH. You'll know all the people that did come to your wedding really care about you and your FH and wanted to be there for the both of you.
