FH's brother just announced that he is getting married eight weeks before us... in Georgia. It's bad enough I'm planning a wedding on LI from Roch, but now I have to sacrifice some of my time off during the 2 very busy months before my wedding to pay $1,000 in plane tickets to fly to Atlanta during the holidays.

I know there's nothing I can do about this. And I think they're perfect for each other. I'm very happy they're getting married. But WHY do they have to do it 8 weeks before my wedding? Can't they pick another time? Or even another location?

Thanks ladies. I was really upset last night, but as much as this sucks I'm not going to let it ruin MY wedding. It's still 8 weeks before mine, and I'll just do my best to plan ahead. Hopefully I can keep from crying/turning red when it's spoken of.

Ugh that's annoying! It is difficult enough to plan your days off, I'm already starting to think about carrying over as many days as possible!!

I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this. Everyone is entitled to their day, but come on! 8 weeks before?? Couldn't they wait a few more months?

You are right...don't let them ruin your day. You and FH have to be there, so hold your head up high and don't let them know that it bothers you.

That's very inconsiderate. People don't realize by doing this you will have to use money you would have used to pay for your wedding on theirs. It's selfish.

So sorry!! Try to only stay the weekend and maybe drive so you can split the gas/tolls this way it's less money and you don't need time off from work..... Good luck!

I did mention to him that I was stressed about it. But he said that she is in med school the holidays are the only time she has a break long enough for a wedding.
