So we go back to a house we liked last night and I've been fuming ever since!
I'm sooo mad. We went to an open house on Sunday and we point blank asked what the deal was and if they'd had and bids and what they were doing. They said they had an offer from the first people who walked in the house, but that they didn't want to accept the first offer and were waiting to see what happened with the open house. So I call back the next morning and say we want to come look at the house again. No one was going to be home, so they said come back Tuesday evening. So we go back last night, and while we're there the realtors like, 'Oh, by the way, they accepted that first bid a couple of days ago and the engineer has been here already and everything, but I thought you'd like to come look again anyway and we can set you up to look at other things.' I was so pissed! It took all my restraint to not scream at him. I was quiet the rest of the time we were there. I talked to them for three days in a row where they had a chance to say something to me. Instead, the realtor exploited the situation so that he could meet with us again and talk about other prospects. I didn't care about other prospects, I cared about that house!!! And then, when he's talking to DH (cause I won't really talk anymore), he asks what our max is. So DH tells him and he says, 'Well, I'll had 30,000 to that.' DH says that he already gave him a padded figure and not to do that. The realtor says, 'Well, I'm gonna do it anyway.' What a schmuck! I'm so sick of this whole process.

Wow, not only is that extremely frustrating for you, but very shading dealing with this realtor. No offense, but if they are not honest about things from the beginning, it is hard to know they are doing the right thing by you later on. I hope you have better luck in your search

I am so sorry. What an a**hole!!!!!!!!!
Definetly get another realtor!!!!!!!
As for him adding onto your highest price, our realtor did that too and thank goodness he did. This house was a little out of our price range but we got him down to what we could afford. We did that on another house we bid on to. It's worth looking at a little higher priced houses because there is a chance they will come down.

Thanks ladies! I was just so mad and frustrated. Well, this guys isn't our realtor, he's the seller's realtor. I would never pick this guy to help us again--I could never trust him. ugh!

We have 3 people from Century 21 and Caldwell Banker helping us so that the seller has to pay their commission, but no one that we're paying to help us. This weasel was the guy running the open house.
