I'm sorry your offer wasn't accepted. Good luck with your house hunting. Don't worry...your perfect house will be waiting for you.

Thanks, ladies! This is the second house we've put an offer on, and both times, we were THISCLOSE!!! I wonder how many offers people put forward before actually landing a deal....

well, fingers crossed! Excited for the right one to come along...

I literally fell in love with every house. They look good but I would have my dad look and the basic stuff was no good. You don't want to buy a house and have to put a lot of money and work into it unless you get a handy man house and price. We put a offer on another house but it didn't work out. I was getting ready to throw in the towel. Saying I wasn't meant to owe a house. Then I saw an open house of this ranch on a Monday. I showed my mom and she was like we have to go. I bought my dad and fiance back. Put an order in on Tuesday and they accepted! Its scary because you aren't in contract for 10 days so even if they accept your offer they could take someone elses if they offer more. I think that is so not fair. I was lucky I got honest people selling there house. Don't worry it will happen!!!

Yes it is an emotional rollercoast even after they accept your offer!
We thought two houses were 'the one' and they didn't go through... now I'm glad because we are in contract on one that is a million times better!! Just keep moving... it's tiring and crazy somtimes but it'll work out.

Everything happens for a reason!

My mom gave me really good advice. She said in the end if you really like a house you have to decide how much you are willing to pay for it. She said you don't want to lose the house of your dreams for 5,000 dollars.

As for doing a lot of work to a house, you have to see what is best for you. For me, I wanted a really nice size property, really nice block, really good school district, and we are buying the smallest house on the block. We figure with a few more years of saving we can expand and make it exactly what we want. Plus, my family is really handy.

I agree with all of this!

The two houses we put offers on, we ended up offering the max we could afford because we didn't want to lose it for a few thousand. They weren't the nicest houses, but they were livable, in good neighborhoods, and good school districts. It's the way to go.
