SO, WE WROTE OUR OWN VOWS, HERE THEY ARE! (long)
I waited obviously until the wedding was over - but here are the vows we wrote to each other. Neither one of us knew what the other was writing until the moment came.
Carey:
Bryan, with you I have found everything I’ve always believed love could be. Our love is true, unconditional, selfless and without pride. We have a mutual respect for each other that I value so much. Through all of life’s challenges, I know things will be okay as long as you are with me. You truly are my best friend.
I love that our relationship’s foundation is based on honesty and loyalty. I love how much fun we have and how much we always laugh together. I love dancing with you in the house - I hope that never ends. I love watching you with Nyla and knowing that you fell in love with her from the first day you met her. I love just being with you.
I love how smart and confident you are. You are caring and considerate and honestly the funniest person I’ve ever met. I was so proud of you those times that you went on stage to do stand up. I don’t know many people who would chase their dream the way you did. Your courage is so admirable.
I’m so fortunate to have you in my life. I truly feel we were made for each other. With you I have found true happiness. You are an amazing person. When we finally did it was everything I hoped it would be. You were like nobody I've ever met, it felt like those first few hours ticked by so quickly and I wanted so much more time with you. I want to thank you for everything that you do for me personally. I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate having you in my life. You give me the support that I need to get through anything and somehow always know exactly what I need to hear. You truly are my better half. You give me the understanding that immediately puts me at ease- to finally let me know I am not alone. You make me stronger than I could ever be on my own. Just being around you gives me the confidence to achieve things I’ve only dreamed about. And you give me love. You make me feel loved in a way I never thought possible. I love that when the wedding proposal got rained out, you wanted to walk in the rain. We walked in that rain to the Cliff Walk, 45 minutes, uphill, and I watched you happily walk beside me. As you splashed around in the puddles, I couldn’t help but think that you were the most beautiful person in the world, and that I was the luckiest.
You’re the most special person that I know. You’re warm and friendly in a way that makes me feel home. You’re hysterical. Every day I look forward to hearing how there’s an excessive amount of carrots in your soup or any of your other rants. You’ve got such a big heart that I don’t know how it’s contained in someone so tiny. Your generosity knows no bounds. You’re sharp enough to hang with a room full of Wall Street, yet kind enough to genuinely want to adopt every animal you see. You are everything I ever wanted and more than I could ever ask for.
