So what are some little details you are doing for your Wedding

Why dont we make a thread and then we can get some ideas from each other.

I already got from Flaca

Gift Bags for the valet to put in the cars with
Water
CD
Cookies

With a little note that says for the ride home.

I like the Gift Bag in the car thing, especially if they have a long ride home! I can just picture my grandfather coming out of his car going 'Who the hell left this in my car?!'

~We are doing CD favors (soundtrack of the 'movie' - thanks Deb) for just the rehearsal dinner guests - that lets our closest family and friends in on our favorite songs and gives them something 'extra' as a thank you.

~I am having a local farm/bakery provide me with enough mini pies to set one up in each hotel room as a special 'taste' of North Fork.

~Organizing a wine tasting tour for the day before the wedding - so OOT guests can meet and mingle and get tipsy together.

We are doing instant lotto tickets. That's all for now. I am looking for other ideas that don't cost much.

Im tossing around the idea of using either candy/caramel apples or mini pumpkins as placecard holders.

I love that favor in the car idea, but with all we're doing already, it might be a bit much. Maybe I'll do water bottles on the way out, to help sober people up

So far we're doing:

* Gift bags for OOT guests in their rooms
* Favor #1. A donation, with the information in place card frames for guests.
* Favor #2. Either leaf-shaped chocolates or a yankee votive candle in Autumn Lodge (our favorite scent).
* Favor #3. Cake slice boxes filled with left over wedding cake for guests to pick up on the way out of the reception.
* Leaf and tree themed programs, table names, menus and place cards.

That's all that comes to mind

I'm having gourds out on the tables and leaves spread out all over the place..

We are having a special dance for everyone to join in on..

We are doing fall themed menu's and place seating cards.

I am having a fall themed wedding, and I am having mini pumpkins as my place card holders (diva...you have FM).

What else....We are having our pictures taken with big numbers in our hands and framing the pic to put at the tables.

---special menus
---Votive candles for placecards
---everyone leaving with coffee/NY Times/Krispy Kreme packages for ride home
---one of my work clients is creating a special song for our first dance song
---Friend of family is getting permit to marry us

---deciding between what kind of signing book still

Also, there was an awesome thread on BHB a while back (when I first joined LIW) on special details but from pple already married and there were amazing ideas -- I particularly remember Heidi LA and he Broadway themes -- does anyone remember that thread?

Deb, are you making the votives for the place cards yourself, I was thnking about this, but I'm scared it might be too much. I'm making my own programs. I'm really good with my hands and being creative, but I feel like I'd be majorly anal about making them, and end up messing them up

Nope, the planner is doing them. At this point, as I continue to tell FI, he should be glad I am willing to show up ;)

Ha, thats great! I just realized that I wouldn't be able to do them anyway, since our place card table is at the bottom level of our hall, and we can't have candles in the sanctuary, they won't allow it....

So, I guess I don't have to worry now!

Instead of little things because I am just not that creative, we are having a chocolate fountain. Maybe if I can find fake rhinestones I want to scatter them with rose petals where the seating cards are.

Ooh, so my special detail might be...I'm thinking about surprising FH with having a cigar roller rolling cuban cigars with customized bands on it.....I've been to a wedding where they did that and it went over well..

I unfortunately, have opted out of making the Ride Home Bags in their entirety. If funds are good, I will make a mini version.

Everyone's ideas seem wonderful!!!!!!!!
