so what do you think of this..MOB dress drama

I went to Paradise yesterday and trued on a couple of dresses with my mom. She really fell in love with a dress that was $300.00. It looked so great on her and I was so happy she was in love with it. So...she told them she wanted to order it. The contract was written up...cash was handed over for the deposit and they were going to order it. At first, the sales lady told me that she could not give me the 10% discount on this dress b/c the dress was very low as it was. I told her, that when i purchased my dress and (7) BM dresses, i was told regardless...that my mother would get 10% off. She said fine and gave $30 discount to my mom.

So today, she gets a message on her machine at home stating that the dress was discontinued and they would still be able to order it for an additonal change of $30. (Hmm......really? $30? Is that to make up for the $30 discount my mom was given yesterday?) Im really upset because my mom was so happy about this dress you know?

So anyways, what do you think I should do? Should I call them back and ask them to cover the cost of it ? Between myself and my BM's we just dropped $2500 in that store. They did not tell me the dress was discontinued yesterday....

Or should we just **** it up and pay the $30.00

seriously thats pretty retarded of them. do you know who makes the dress and the style #. Because if you do I would call the company to see if they are really discontiuning the dress

Why don't you call another store and see if they 'can' order it and how much it would be. You can see if they say its discountrinued.

Honestly, I would prob just pay the $30....

That seems SERIOUSLY effin sketchy to me. Do you have it in writing anywhere that says you get 10% off regardless of cost? Either way I'd ask to speak to a manager, AFTER calling up the company that makes the dress and finding out for myself whether or not it had been discontinued.

I dont know the style number...stupid me to not get it...but they do take the tags out of the dress. I know its Jordan. If I call Jordan I dont know what to say to them because I dont know the style number...

I did see a dress that was similar? Maybe I can tell them the dress looks like this one??

totally agree with Kim! callt he company and see if that dress is in production and if its going to be discontinued!!!! if not. get the name of the person u spoek to.. and go there in PERSON if u can.. and let them have it. thats BSHYT!!!!!!

in the meantime, find another store that has that dress. if u already paid a deposit and they said they can order it for more $, thats on THEM.. NOT YOU! u should be entitled to your deposit back!!!!!!!!

do NOT pay the 30$. they are such scammers. its not the $ its the fkn principle!!!!!!!

look on the jordan website!!!!!! you WILL FIND IT!!

my mom found a dress and i got the style #.. guess what?? they purposely wrote the style # BACKWARDS on the tags.. DERF!!!

found the dress for 100$ less elsewhere.

did you get a reciept? maybe the style number is on there? if not, start lookin around online for it. so you can call the company. it sounds a little strange to me

I have the Style number (HOLLLLERRRRR!!!)

I just called Jordan and they are closed for lunch. You girls got me all pumped up.....thanks for all the advice. I will update all of you laters...

I'd definitely call and speak to a manager and say that it sounds REALLLLLLYYYY shady. Then if you get it the run around I'd walk away and threaten to take your business elsewhere. For me its not the $$, its the fact that they are acting shady.
