I went to Paradise yesterday and trued on a couple of dresses with my mom. She really fell in love with a dress that was $300.00. It looked so great on her and I was so happy she was in love with it. So...she told them she wanted to order it. The contract was written up...cash was handed over for the deposit and they were going to order it. At first, the sales lady told me that she could not give me the 10% discount on this dress b/c the dress was very low as it was. I told her, that when i purchased my dress and (7) BM dresses, i was told regardless...that my mother would get 10% off. She said fine and gave $30 discount to my mom.
So today, she gets a message on her machine at home stating that the dress was discontinued and they would still be able to order it for an additonal change of $30. (Hmm......really? $30? Is that to make up for the $30 discount my mom was given yesterday?) Im really upset because my mom was so happy about this dress you know?
So anyways, what do you think I should do? Should I call them back and ask them to cover the cost of it ? Between myself and my BM's we just dropped $2500 in that store. They did not tell me the dress was discontinued yesterday....
Or should we just **** it up and pay the $30.00

Re: so what do you think of this..MOB dress drama
Id find another place to order it. Even if you have to pay the extra $30 somewhere else. I would rather it go somewhere honest than there.
Or I would fight like hell...

I would definitely not just say ok and fork the $$ over...honestly these people should be working for YOU...you were promised a certain price...you signed a contract...they must deliver.
I had a similar experience with my venue. We stayed there for a night this past October to do some wedding planning (wedding already booked etc.) and I emailed the girl to tell her we were staying there & could we get a room discount. She said no problem and gave us a good price...then she emails me that she wrote down the wrong date & the night we are staying there is an extra $60---not for nothing but this was HER mistake & we are forking over a crapload of money...so I explained that to her *nicely and said that I didn't think it was right for her to haggle with us over this price when it was her mistake etc. She ended up giving us the room for the price we originally agreed on. Always speak up!

Sounds shady to me. I would search the web to see if it was discontinued first. And also either way once you find out, speak to the manager.

I would find someone else who carries it and/or call the designer to find out if it really IS discontinued first. If it is, then go ahead and order. If not, tell them that they're liar liar pants on fire and you'll be telling any woman in her 20s and 30s that you run into for the next year that they're dirty liars.

I ordered my dress from Paradise Bridal and they are such a pain in the ***! I would fight it, but if you mom loves it so much she will probably order it either way since it's just $30.00.
