WEll, for me i want them as soon as i can. we both want 3-4 kids. I can't wait!!!!!!
I want them one right after the other.. You guys might think i am crazy!!!!!

After the wedding I want to do some traveling with just the FH. Once you have kids it's no longer just the two of you. So I am going to put that off a few years (3-4) while we travel Europe, further our careers and enjoy each other. Then I'll bring children into the world and devote the rest of my life to them. But for now, I want it to be about just me and my FH.

I am not ready yet I am 23 and I will be 24 when we get married he will be turning 28 when we get married.
He doesn't want to be an old dad so I say three years. Depending on his career decision we may not be able to afford it right away.
I like some of you do not plan on working after the first, and I do want my children close in age!!!
You think YOUR clock is loud? I'm 35. I want to start right away but FH is clearly not ready. HE wants to wait. I told him if he wanted to put off a family he should have picked someone younger to marry. I am older with more risks and a family history of problems associated with being pregnant. I also do not know about how fertile I am or will be. He knows I want to be pregnant by the end of next year. HOWEVER regardless of what I want, if we BOTH are not ready then it is not good for us. I won't trick him into having a baby for my selfishness. I'll end up a single mother.
I hear ya! No one believes me when I say this, but I am 42!!!!!!! FH is 44 and has a 21 year old. He wants us to have one right away! And I don't know! I would be crazy to try it at this age. I am SOOOOOO confused!

We plan on waiting about 2 years. I am 28 and FH is 29. I want to spend time with him and just enjoy him. I am so not ready to be a mother. I know that if it were to happen, though, FH would be THRILLED!

I do feel pretty healthy, I guess. Thanks. I'm sorry to hear about your history and concerns. It does scare me too about making sure a child has the best chance to be healthy. I do agree about your perspective about the 'chances' thing. And to have the knowledge that you know you can handle everything! You have a great attitude!

We plan on having kids 2-3 years after we are married... He will be 28 and I will be 23. He already has an 8 year old and I didn't want to have kids too soon so he's willing to wait a few years but doesn't want to wait that long...

I will be 27 and he 30. We dont want to even think about kids for at least 4-5 years. i always said I dont want children til i'm 30, but that may even be too soon.

we will start trying a year after we are married...Luckily we have the house already but we want to enjoy married life & being together...We want at least 2, so I would like to be done by 30...

Okay, just kidding. At the time of our wedding, I will be 25 and FI will be 30. We want to wait at least 3-5 years before having kids so that we can enjoy being married - you're a parent for the rest of your life right? I also want to finish Grad School and be well established in my career.

i dont think i am the 'planning' type - it would give me an anxiety attack.
but i will be the first one with an open door - welcoming in all of my friends and their babies/children. i love kids - but i can't really plan my own...
and the stork really needs to bring them to my doorstep for me....

Me too. I wouldn't be able to drink at my wedding if I were prego. Not that I drink at all really but even a champagne toast. I couldnt even have soda. Not to mention the fact that there is ZERO room in my dress for a paunch of any size. The front is too form fitting.

Good point about the drinking. Plus I want to stop drinking 3 months before we start trying (maybe with some leeway, maybe not...). Could just adopt and avoid the stretch marks...
