~ So when is to soon to buy your dress!!!!

~ Okay im getting married in 2013 ...2 years away and i been looking at wedding dresses just on the website and books but i know the dress designer and i been doing my homework so im prepared ..now when is a good time to get the dress???

wow you are super prepared. Most places say order atleast 9 months in advance. I'd recommend waiting until you are 1 year out. Styles change often and you're taste might as well. It is exciting though so it won't hurt to try a few on

I would say wait until a year before...too many brides have bought dresses and fell out of love with them.... JMO!

Yea thats what I heared to wati a year..but i fell in love with this one dress and now i really want to try it on just to see how it looks...but its a disney dress and i never saw a dress as gorgeous..it might sound crazy but i really really really LOVE IT ...lol

i have to agree with this. I've seen it happen to some girls on this site. I know it's so tempting but maybe do other wedding planning

This! We ordered right at the 9 month mark and it came in 2 months.

If you do happen to purchase your dress early, make sure you stop looking at wedding dresses completely! That's a sure way to get dress envy.

You could still go try it on! I just wouldn't order it yet.

I never understood the rush to order. Playing dress up was my absolute without a doubt favorite part of wedding planning.

hey I am a 2013 bride as well

I am waiting until the fall of 2012.. my wedding is in August 2013.. I am really picky and change my mind very often i dont want to fall out of love with my dress..

but I too know the designer and style i want lets see if I feel the same way the when the time comes around.

AGREE!! 2 years is alot of time for some great new designs.. don't limit yourself! But def. try some on, you will get a feel for the cut you like and what will work with your body!

i would say it cant hurt to shop and see what you like...but def dont order anything now. not only do styles change but so does your taste. if you find a few dresses you like, keep pics of them and every so often take a look at them and see how you feel. if after 2 years you still love it then you are set...if not you have plenty of time to find something else.
You can order 9 months in advance and be fine...so have fun shopping!

I agree, wait atleast one year from now. You don't want to change your mind and buy another dress or have to wear a dress your not 100% in love with.

Pluss....the dress you love could be a lot cheaper if you buy it a season later bc the new years styles came out.

I would wait til 1 year before the wedding. You will change your mind about 20x between now and then. This is something you should def. wait on!

I agree with what most said---wait until at least a year before. I know it's tempting to go for it now but so many new styles come out within a year that it's worth it to wait. I bought mine a year before and I even thought I wanted to change my mind a few times so I think wait as long as you possibly can without it being too late to make sure the dress comes in on time...maybe 9 months or so?

I bought my dress a year and a half before my wedding and have not once regretted it. When you know, you know. So if it is something you absolutely LOVE they may discontinue the line and you may not be able to get it if you wait a year or two. HTH!

I would order 11-12 months before your wedding. They said my dress will take 6-9 months to come in and then 8 week for alteration

I agree I bought my pre-wedding dress already, and might change it ...but I did get it on sale so I could sell it on e-bay . As for THE dress I just put a deposit to track it (I REALLY LOVE IT THOUGH)...if it starts to get discontinued before I am ready (which will be at the 9 month mark) I will make up my mind then. At least if I change it, I can use the deposit toward another dress a the same shop.

Same here. I got engaged August 2008, and fell in love with a dress in October 2008. It was a bit out of my price range, so I figured I would call back. I bought a different dress that was similiar but not the same (but half the price of my dream dress). I started rethinking and decided I NEED that first dress. IT WAS DISCONTINUED!!! I was lucky enough to find a sample dress, but am still trying to sell the other. So if you are in love with this dress, be in close contact with your bridal salon!! I wouldn't order it yet, but make sure it will be available when you are ready

I would wait...only because if you order 2 years ahead of time...there are so many more new collections that will come out and you may find a new one that you loveeee after you already purchase the dress.
