It's ok to start looking around and even trying dresses on but I would seriously consider waiting until you actually make a decision and place an order. So many girls who have ordered early have seen other dresses that caught their eye and wind up purchasing a new dress (so many new styles are going to be available to you between now and when you should purchase your dress). Also, if you order now, your dress is most likely going to come in super early and the salon may not be able to hold it for you at the store so you will have it hanging in a closet for a long time before you start fittings.
Like others said, definitely start trying on dresses to get an idea of what style you are looking for/works best for you and just enjoy playing dress up - it's one of the best parts of planning! I started looking/trying on dresses about a year and a half in advance but didn't order my dress until 11 months before the wedding. It should be here in March![]()
