I did it for all of a month in high school...it did nothing for me. Darn proud to say that I never tried anything else either!

I tried it in HS and pretty much outgrew it immediately after I graduated. I really don't get the love affair some people have with this drug... but that's just me. Hey, whatever, to each her own. But, it baffles me when I see grown adults -- married with kids and everything, go outside to 'smoke a bowl'. It's like... um, okay HOW old are you again?

Re: So...about the wacky tobaccky

I was almost everyday from the age of 16-21. I couldn't fall asleep without it! I stopped when i started hearing a very loud buzzing in myhead (no joke) for the first few hours of the day. I figured it was time. Every friday night though, FH and I get wacky and have a blast laughing our butts off, watching movies and eating crap food. Personally, I think it is a harmless (even beneficial!) herb when used in moderation.

I couldn't answer the poll either ... in my almost 37 years of life, I can probably count on my hands the number of times I've smoked dope ...

I smoked it in High School and a bit afterwards, but somehow it stopped affecting me and just made me really really tired. I would smoke and be asleep 10 minutes later, so no more for me.

I have pretty much the same story except that I didn't start until I was 21 and I never got the buzzing in my head. I smoked almost every day for about 2 years and then cut down to once a week or so. I admit it, I really enjoy the stuff.

I tried it in college once and had a horrible experience. That was the first and last time!

i enjoy the wacky tobaccky but only in moderation. i know many successful people who smoke daily and it does not effect their lives, neither professionally, emotionally nor mentally. yes, some of these people are well into adulthood and still enjoy 'smoking a bowl' but there's no reason to criticize them if they are tax-paying citizens who simply enjoy a bit of a high. they aren't hurting anyone, except possilby their own health but that's their decision. it annoys me to see people who have no experience with this drug to make such remarks.

I don't think it's reall a big criticism, I think it's a little weird and incongruous when you see lawyers and soccer moms smokin a bowl. I think it's really funny. it's hard I think to reconcile it. it's hard to compare what everyone thinks of us normal suburban life with what people commonly think of pot snokers. usually they think of young people, hipppies, students and generally iressponsible people. it's not true in all cases of course, but that's where the mind goes, so the images don't necessarily add up. It's just the way our society views certain people. I mean 99% of the time in movies when you see someone who smokes pot, they're unemployed, dirty, etc etc. So I don't think it's necessarily passing a judgement, I just think it's hard to reconcile. Some of the most responsible, high achieving people I know smoke pot regularly, as do a lot of the slackers

good point. i think anyone's opinion (like anything else) is swayed by their experience and exposure. i am constantly around lawyers and stock brokers who smoke often.. so to me, it's really not such a big deal. honestly, if i wasn't exposed to it as much as i am, my opinion would probably be different (b/c i am not a habitual smoker).

wow this is a funny one............yup love the stuff..... and YES i have a child to.........for people who say they cant understand why i do it i tell them we all have a drug of choice......some people drink........well i dont.....i am a dibetic and my doctor says it has no efect on my dibeties, so i really dont see a problem with it.........some day it WILL be legal and the govt will get its part.........now i am sure that a lot of people who will read this will say oh i feel for rainmama......she does not do it ....but does not care if i do as long as the family comes first and it does.....just my though

Re: So...about the wacky tobaccky

I used to do it a lot in college, and afterwards with my ex who was a HUGE pothead. I like it more than alcohol since it doesn't give me any kind of hangover and it just gives me the giggles then I sleep. l
But I don't do it anymore. Not because I think it's wrong, because I don't at all. But DH just doesn't do it so I just don't get the chance to. But sometimes I think 'mmmm some pot would be so good right now!'

Laser Floyd was the BEST on weed! I miss that. :)

Re: So...about the wacky tobaccky

I used to smoke back when I was in like 9th grade, but after a bad experience where I smoked at a party and it was laced with something and I didnt know it, I cant smoke after that, my lungs tighten up and I get asthma attacks. I have taken like one drag or two since then, but I cant tolerate any more than that.

I dont do it anymore because I can be randomly drug tested at my job at any time, and I dont want to lose my job or license over it. However, you would be surprised at the # of doctors that I have met that do it! I have yet to see anyone OD on pot, and I am 100% convinced that alcohol is more dangerous than pot. In fact, its probably the most detrimental drug addiction that there is out there.

I think pot should be legal but should be regulated, like you have to be 21 to use it, cant drive when stoned, ect.

Re: So...about the wacky tobaccky

what annoys me are those people against it because they say 'it's a gateway drug'. ANd it'll lead to doing more stuff. Thats such a generalization. I have NEVER tried anything but pot. And most of my friends haven't either. It may be true with some people, but those also may be people with addictive personalities who probably started with ALCOHOL.

Re: So...about the wacky tobaccky

I was always such a 'good girl' that I never tried it. I've never even tried a cigarrette! However, I have become more and more interested in trying it lately, as I have a couple of close friends who do it. DH would be really unhappy with me though, so that keeps me from trying it.

I used to do it all the time in college and post-college. I stopped though because I found that I was becoming forgetful. MY BIL does it all the time and he's completely burnt out. He has ZERO commonsense.

PS. My SIL is having trouble getting PG and her DR. told her that POT can effect the male sperm.
