Re: So...about the wacky tobaccky

DH and I come from different worlds on this subject. I grew up w/any kind of drugs and alcohol a big no no which my parents taught by demonstration (neither parent smoked occasionally I would see my dad w/a beer at a party but I never saw either of my parents intoxicated or under the influence of something) while DH's mom would smoke w/him from time to time! He grew up with it as something completely acceptable and part of everyday life. However he has had some rough times because of this, maybe not so much because of him smoking personally but how his family found it so acceptable (long story which I won't get into now) It's no longer part of his daily routine, mostly my influence, but his friends still do so, whenever we get together with them he'll join them. Frankly, DH's cigarette smoking bothers me the most out of his bad habits. I never tried it don't care to, I don't see the allure of it. But one things for sure our future children will not grow up in any way close to how DH grew up!

Re: So...about the wacky tobaccky

my brother got into a lot of trouble because of a pot addiction. It nearly killed him, and hurt a lot of people in the process. Out of respect for him, I made a decision to myself never to try it. (Of course, I was about 20 at the time I had made the decision and had never been tempted by it before).

I find it to be a really scary drug because people think that it can never turn into an addiction, but it certainly can.

I've done it, but I don't love it or got addicted to it.

I smoked REGULARLY for years. Initially I quit because I was looking for a job and I was so surprised how easy it was for me to stop. I still smoke occasionally if I fee like it and I really don't see anything wrong with it.

I was always such a 'good girl' that I never tried it. I've never even tried a cigarrette! However, I have become more and more interested in trying it lately, as I have a couple of close friends who do it. DH would be really unhappy with me though, so that keeps me from trying it.

ditto. 100%

I've done it about a dozen or so times long ago. All it did was give me the giggles and make me exhausted

When I was on high school and really depressed I would smoke pot. Naturally it just made me MORE depressed, but I was too out of it to make that connetion.

I smoked some in HS, more in college, and then from about 21-24, that's was it for me, I didn't really drink often, but I loved smokin'.....and then I was looking for a new job and stopped to pass a drug test, and then I met FH...who has never!?! how could that be????? no drugs ever, not even cigarette, I have tried alot of them at one point or another, and found pot to be the one that I enjoyed the most. I haven't smoked in almost a year, largely because of FH, and no other reason, although I don't really miss it.....

I have never tried it (or any other drug for that matter), and have no desire to.
