I applied for Sean's when I was in the hospital. (they provided me with the paperwork) I got his SS card in the mail in about 3 weeks, I believe.

When did you apply for Sophia's?

Jenny, didn't you fill out the form in the hospital? Actually, you're in Jersey right? It might be different there then here in NY. I'll ask my sister, since my nephew was born in Jersey.

I filled out the form for Gianna in the hospital -- and received it in the mail when she was a couple of weeks old.

The birth certificate form I also filled out in the hospital and that one pissed me off because they had the nerve to ask what your weight was BEFORE you got pregnant -- NOT FOR NOTHING BUT WHY THE HELL DOES THE DEPT. OF HEALTH NEED TO KNOW YOUR WEIGHT FOR???? I refused to answer and the woman said she had to have it!! I wouldn't do it with Joe in the room , so the woman gave me the paper to write it myself!!! That still pisses me off BTW!!

I am LMAOOOOOO at this!! The same thing happened to me - freakin' LIJ!! When I was admitted for observation (due to the car accident) the night before my scheduled induction, the nurse had all these questions.. including pre-pg weight and current weight - Steve was SO happy to be in the room since I kept it from him at every OB visit!

Meanwhile, I was like, 'so much for PATIENT PRIVACY!!'. The kicker was when she got to the 'has he ever physically abused you' question, she didn't ask, she just showed me the question and I said 'uh, yeah like that would ever happen'!!? I said 'why couldn't you just do that with the weight questions, too!?'

You didn't???? You know what, your form was probably different because Nicky was born in Nassau County and Gianna was born in Queens (even though the hospital is called LONG ISLAND Jewish, but don't ask). It was from the Dept. of Health and I had received it in the mail from the hospital before I had her, but I didn't fill it out because I got pissed off with that question!! It was like 4 pages long!!!!

Joe was all happy thinking he was going to find out how much I weighed, but I fixed his goat!! The nerve!!! The woman who did it (not a nurse) was caught off guard by my refusing!!! I cannot be the only one who ever refused!!!!

Does it really matter how much you weighed in order to get a birth certificate?? I mean come on, they didn't ask me how much Joe weighed???!! What's up with that?????? Oooohhh, this is burning my a$$ as I'm typing. I should write them a letter!

They didn't ask me that when I admitted myself to L&D the day before I had her (dumb chooch nurse doing the NST didn't like the fact that Gianna was so active and sent me to admitting). They asked me every other friggin question under the sun and I said to the nurse 'Aren't I pre-registered? Why do I need to do all this?' and she said only certain stuff was -- HELLO, she was asking me my dr's name and all this other relevant info that the dr sent!!!

Tangent girl here -- anyway, not only did they not ask me about being abused at L&D that day, but they didn't ask me the next day either!! And the best was, are you sitting down? I HAD TO ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS THE WOMAN ASKED ME THE DAY BEFORE AND I WAS THERE NOT EVEN 24 HOURS PRIOR!!!!! The woman even said 'oh you're back' and had the nerve to make me answer it all over again. I was like 'you have all this in the computer, just pull my name up, I'm leaking a river here lady, let's go, I don't have all day'!!!

I'm getting all red now, this is how much it pissed me off!!!!

LMAO. I should have lied. He had NO clue. I probably scared him, too. I'm surprised he didn't scream 'you weigh HOW much?'

AHAHAHAHAHAH! He loves me anyway.

At least you let him hear you!! Joe got mad at me that I wouldn't say it out loud!!! He's like 'I don't care' -- well Buddy, you might not care, but I sure do and you might care when you hear the number!!!

I forgot to say in my other rampage (so sorry Jenny to take over your thread with my outrage ) that they have some hell of a nerve asking if he abused you!!! As IF!!!

I was asked that too, and Patrick wasstanding right there. I said 'No, and do you think ANYONE would tell the truth with the abuser in the room??'
After that they asked Patrick to go sign some papers at admitting, and when he was gone they asked me again!
They thought I lied!!!
