some actual wedding questions.... May/June and others

when do we start thinking of invitations? um, where do i GET invitations? have you guys thought about them yet?

When do i need to pick flowers by? I don't even have a florist yet - i was thinking of going this weekend to meet with one but first my sister needs to pick her dress (hopefully this weekend).

what about favors? How soon before? Any suggestions? I think I want wine stoppers or any other sort of favor that's actually useful.

No one ever replies to my wedding questions but i REALLY need help now b/c i'm overwhelmed with work/school that I want to get more wedding stuff done so i don't get freaked at the last minute.

i have my invites and theyre going out mid-november... rsvp is mid-january. i have my favors picked out but not done being put together! and i still need flowers haha...

well they say to send out invitations about 8-12 weeks before the wedding...so depending on who you get it from which sometimes can be a week a longer i say anywhere from 4-6 months before the wedding to start looking at invitations

Favors you can even get 1 month before the wedding but this would depend if you order it online and how long they take for delivery and giving yourself time to wrap them all

Flowers, i already did mine but go sometime soon to get it out of the way

i would start looking for dresses this month for BM
florists i would at least book someone you can always change your mind with flowers -it's only to book the date

i think once you're set on what you want your favors to be you can get them, just make sure you're totally sure that it's what you want

i plan on ordering my invites in jan/feb sometime i think i will send them out the end of may i think if you order them in jan you'll be fine and send them out i guess march sometime

fh and i have a task for every month. in october we looked at florists. we should be putting down a deposit within a week.

we went to a printing place by us for invitations and the guy said two weeks at the most to print.

i have ideas for favors but have not made a decision.

bridesmaid dresses were picked and ordered in september.

next on our list is flower girl dresses and mothers dresses.

We'll probably pick out invites in January.

We already did favors but if we didn't, I'd do that in February.

We already booked the florist but if we didn't, I'd book it after I picked out my dress and my BM dresses.

Our date is June 27.

If I were you, I'd do all that stuff right after the holidays.

YOu are getting married a day before me . I am going to start looking for invites in late Dec/Jan.

Go to the flowers asap!!!! I had those since May.

Don worry you will get things done!!!!!!

Bm dresses we are going for in the middle of november. they say they take 3-6 months to come in, depending on syle and designer.

Invitations I am ordering from a store where my mom used to work. They shoudl come in about 2 weeks. And we will mail them out the end of april begining of may. the RSVP will be for june 7th or june 13. i want to giv emyself extra time so incase people don't send back the rsvp's i have time to call.

I don't really know the 'correct' answers to your questions, but I haven't picked out my invitations yet. FH and I plan to do this over thanksgiving, since my mom sells invitations on the side and can get them for cost (1/2 price). I have it narrowed down to 2, but I keep going back and forth.

We also haven't picked out favors, although we did book a florist.

I would focus on the things that can book up first (not sure if florists book up?) and then focus on the things that you will need before the wedding (invitations) and then worry about favors.

i asked my sister if May 1 was too late for a may 31 wedding and she was like uh, YEAH! so I guess mid-april, like 3rd week the latest. that way you have time to call the stragglers. idk

that's what i was thinking - right after christmas. problem is i'm doing winter intensive sessions so i think i'll be super busy... so if i can get flowers done.

i'm only having my sister, so it's just one dress and we might just get it whereever.

so i guess this decides it for me - i'll do flowers next then deal with invites after the new year.

ugh. I didn't even THINK of mom dresses! that's going to be an ordeal for sure

I didnt pick flowers for my BO-Ks yet but i dont need to do that till like a month before
i would look around cause u can get some great deals in the pff season. FM me if you need anyhelp! i am very resorsful lol i can help you find what your looking for and find the best price lol

I would think about ur theme/ and RH and pick out flowers that you will be using/ colors and then go to different florists to get some ideas of their work, bring your ideas and then book a florist. Make sure you have all of your vendors first

Then worry about the ilttle things..

when u pick out ur invites......they come really fast.....like the week or next week after u place the order so u have time..Look at invites about 4-6 months b4

thanks! what's pff? ooohhh do you mean off? sorry, i'm dumb. i guess winter is the off season. i was going to call the RH house florist first (though he might me booked) then check out a florist that nmagel got b/c he's in rego park not far from me and she got a great deal. does it matter where the florist is located vs. the RH?
