I would think about ur theme/ and RH and pick out flowers that you will be using/ colors and then go to different florists to get some ideas of their work, bring your ideas and then book a florist. Make sure you have all of your vendors first

Then worry about the ilttle things..

when u pick out ur invites......they come really fast.....like the week or next week after u place the order so u have time..Look at invites about 4-6 months b4

very true... i don't think i'm having a theme though? i just want my sister to pick out her dress so we know the color, and then i'll go from there. I am totally flower clueless.

Ok well I ordered my invites already ( but i was early when ordering them I just wanted to get it out of the way bc i found something that i really loved!) Your florist hopefully is already booked. But you do not need to decide exactly what you want until probably Jan. Our florist told us the beginning of the year we are going to see our sample. We wrote down what we want but we have changed it three times since we booked. I am going to read your post again to make sure i helped you out a little bit but do be stressed i'm sure you are doing things according to plan!

Edit: So i just re-read your post and you do not have a florist yet. I thin you should def book your florst ASAP. It is getting closer to the wedding so you want to make sure you get exactly what you want. There are soooo many ideas for favors. You can type in weddign favors online or wedding favor stores and soo many things come up..it really is endless just preference on what the both of you want to give. We are doing a donation which is something else you can consider.

so i guess i should book a florist! yikes.

When do i need to pick flowers by? I don't even have a florist yet - i was thinking of going this weekend to meet with one but first my sister needs to pick her dress (hopefully this weekend).

what about favors? How soon before? Any suggestions? I think I want wine stoppers or any other sort of favor that's actually useful.

No one ever replies to my wedding questions but i REALLY need help now b/c i'm overwhelmed with work/school that I want to get more wedding stuff done so i don't get freaked at the last minute.

i already have my favors...i got my flowers from wedding world ( that is where i got all my vendors)
I didnt pick flowers for my BO-Ks yet but i dont need to do that till like a month before

thanks! what's pff? ooohhh do you mean off? sorry, i'm dumb. i guess winter is the off season. i was going to call the RH house florist first (though he might me booked) then check out a florist that nmagel got b/c he's in rego park not far from me and she got a great deal. does it matter where the florist is located vs. the RH?

i only know what roses look like, that's all. i know nothing about flowers. i don't like pink at all or any variation of pink. I know i'm weird.

i think there's a flower thread on here... i'll have to do a search for it. Any ideas?? Also once my sister picks her dress color it will be easier.

* Favors- can be a last minute thing- but start thinking of ideas. We are making our own favors to want to start on them in a few weeks.

* Invites- I haven't put too much thought into this yet either. Although, will probably order within the month. Search some websites (there is a thread today about some good sites) to get an idea. Then, just price them out.

Also, not sure if you have but hotel you should book, hair & make up (trials & person) and maybe limos if you need... HTH!!! There's a bunch of us MAY brides

Ok deep breath! You have plenty of time! Even if you are taking winter classes. If you're not being super picky on your flowers then you should have plenty of options for florists! In the end, it will get done and your wedding will be beautiful! I don't know if this helped answer your questions but a lot of the ladies on this board have done stuff too early and end up second guessing themselves. You should try making a list of things that you need to get done and the dates that you would like to get them done by. This way you have a bunch of short term goals for one big long term goal. Then you can feel accomplished when you book a florist, find your dress, order invitations, etc. etc. etc!

Damn...I feel the pressure to get so much done...and I've just been procrastinating so much.

Im a June bride and Im starting to look at invites this month. I also need to take care of the bridesmaid dresses ASAP...It's been a lingering pain in the neck. Each of the girls are so different in size, shape, boobs, taste etc...makes it very hard to find a dress that honestly looks good on everyone. They have been so easy going so it's not that they are being difficult about it...Any stress or strain has been put upon by myself....

And then my FMIL and I spoke tonight and she started asking me a barage of questions about her dress...Just freaked me out because I really need to get the BM dresses taken care of...and now Im holding her and my mom up (plus the flower girls too....)

WHEEEEEWWWWW...Glad I got that off my chest...

Anywhoooo...Start looking for the invites now. You want to leave time to make corrections or adjustments if they aren't right the first time.

I'm getting married the weekend before you-May 25th.

My BM dresses and flowers are done.

As for invites, I will probably start looking at them soon but I don't plan on sending them out until probably March. I want to give people plenty of time to RSVP and I plan on having a B list because I can't fit everyone on my list in the RH! So if you are having a B list- make sure the 'a' list invites go out in plenty of time.

Other than invites, my next tasks are 'TRYING' to make table numbers, menu's , programs, toiletry baskets...... Oh and finding favors!!! SOOO overwhelming! How are we supposed to do this all and work fulltime?

invitations you should start looking to pick out what you love but send them out 6-8wks before the wedding....
flowers as long as you have an idea of what you want you are good...if there is a florist you love book the date...
i am going this week to just look and meet with a florist so i know what flowers are in season being i am getting married next november....

favors if you see shomething while shopping and it is a good deal and there are alot grab them....if it is something that you can always get in a favor store then as long as you give yourself some time to wrap them you are good

I'm 5/31 as well.. I think our invites will go out mid Feb/March.. I know early but I know my guests.. they'll probably send out the rsvp's on the 30th!!!
but.. don't worry.. everything will get done..

Hey I am a June bride and I am wondering the same. My sister and I are going BM shopping tomorrow- finally. I just left her a message and said that we must find something...all my girls have been telling me I need to get going.

I was going to do favors and invitations in January. As for a florist I believe this something you can do now. I've had mine for about a month.
