SOME BAD NEWS!

Original post by sr081906

While I was being entertained by drama threads, my mom called to give me some very bad news.

My stepdad is in the hospital. He was diagnosted with Parkinson's decease. He is 56.

I am upset and feel so bad for my mom. After years of being in an horrible marriage with my dad, she found the perfect man.

Oh... I did not mean like he not good for her anymore!

I just found out It has also been going for 4 weeks but she did not want to tell me because she did not want to upset 'me' so she kept it for herself until they diagnosed him today.

This is just devastating news!

for you and your family Sophie. However, my grandfather had this disease and there are so many medications and physical therapy that a person can do to limit the effect of the disease on the body. He may have his weak moments and it's the family around him that will love and support him. As long as he has all this, he is king and will be plenty happy!! I'm hear if you want to talk or ask questions, etc. I saw it from the first stage to the last stage - and although it can be tough, he will always be the man your mom loved and married.

Oh, I know you didn't mean it like that! I'm just saying that God put them together at this time in their lives for a reason. It must be SO tough, but they will get through it together. God Bless Your family, and I'm sorry you're going through this!
