Some feedback...??

I have appts to view 3 venues this Sat: Swan Club, San Souci and The Metropolitan. Has anyone viewed any of these place or had/having their wedding there?

Also any feedback on Coral House? Went to this place 2 wks ago and as of right now its on top of our list. Plan to go back for a food tasting and to ask a few more ques and view some areas we didnt get to on the 1st visit.

Thanks!

Re: Some feedback...??

I went to the Swan Club and I love it! The grounds were absolutely breath-taking, I haven't seen anything else come close!

The only think I really wasn't in love with is the fact that it's 3 weddings at a time. I was talking to a friend about it and what she said made a lot of sense- you never know who the other brides will be. They could have families that are out of control and with all 3 weddings being outside (bc you really can't tell ppl when they can and can't go outside) I just got really uncomfortable with the whole thing.

I didn't go to the other ones but my only advice is go everywhere and look at everything! I booked Sand Castle immediately and it was the 3rd place we looked at. I don't regret my decision, but I feel like I missed out on the fun of looking at a bunch of places.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!!

Re: Some feedback...??

I went to the Swan Club last weekend and felt rushed - even with feeling that way, I can't wait to go back and see the rest of the place. There was a wedding going on because their appointments ran late so we couldn't see the cocktail hour room. They can have up to 3 weddings at a time, but there's always the chance you won't. The other day when I was there it was a wedding, a shower and a communion party. If you don't have enough people for the big room upstairs, I'd highly suggest the downstairs room. It has it's own bathrooms and entrance! I LOVE the swan club, definitely at the top of my list right now, even though we just started looking ;)

I'm glad you liked coral house! They are on my list to check out. Let me know how the food tasting goes :)

I can't believe places show their rooms with events going on!! I couldn't imagine having my wedding going on and people walking through to see the place!

Re: Some feedback...??

Thanks so much for the feedback. Im only going to have about 120-130ppl so im not sure which room id be in. The grounds def look amazing on the webdite. Looking fwd to viewing it in person tom.

Coral House was beautiful. The rooms were nice and the lake was gorgeous. Menu options sounded yummy. The prices were the best yet.. 82pp for sat evening, 62pp for sun evening. Ceremony fee is 395+ 100 if u want the ceremony on the lake. Included cake and centerpieces.

Re: Some feedback...??

They didn't have anything going on yet; it was justttt starting. (This wound up because their appts got backed up.. otherwise we should've been out, we were the last appt of the morning)They actually showed us the room with the bridal party lined up to go outside to the ceremony; that made me uneasy but they seemed fine about it. Their pricing was really good in March & April so I'm sure in October it will be decent too since it's just about off season.

I spoke with Coral House before; I got quoted less but that was for March/April. I like that they include the centerpieces and cookies and pastries for that price! I'm going to set up a fod tasting/tour!

Hope your appointments go well this weekend!

October is still considered a peak month for most venues I have spoken to. I also like that they include centerpieces n pastries.. also the wedding cake. Only thing i dont like so far is chair covers and bows arent. Its $3 per chair cover + $1 per bow.. boooo! Lol

Thanks for the well wishes. Ill be sure to give feedback. I also set up a food tasting for Coral.. will let u know how it goes.

Re: Some feedback...??

You can totally get things like that thrown in. Once you're set on a place; go back and try to get them to throw things in. If the weekend you want is open, they'll be willing to work with you!

Re: Some feedback...??

You can definetely get the chair covers thrown in & you can BUY the chair sashes cheaper online. 10 for six bucks at a few websites such as this one.

http://www.linentablecloth.com/for-your-chairs/sashes.html

Hope that helps!

i visited several venues and none actually walked us through a room while an event was going on, but we were able to be in the sales offices of some of them.

even for our own wedding, i noticed two different couples sitting in the offices that were off of the lobby (the doors were open), and it didn't bother me in the least (i secretly wondered if either of them were LIW brides - haha!) then again, i'm the type of bride that would have invited them in for a peek! :-P
