some people are so rude!!!(long vent)

Today at work one of the secretaries asked me how the wedding planning was going? I told her it was going good but that everything was so expensive, so it is hard. Her response was 'You're doing it all wrong. My children never had to lay out a single penny for their wedding. I paid for everything'. This was said in front of a few people, so I felt bad but replied 'Well your children were very lucky. weddings are soo expensive these days. My mom has given me some money but certainly not enough to pay for an entire wedding!!!! She then said 'well what are you having a fancy wedding? I said 'nothing fancy but we are having a regular wedding'. I asked her 'have you any idea how expensive weddings are these days?'
I couldn't believe how rude and insistent she was!! (especially since many people know that my fiancee lost his job the day after he bought my ring) so its been really hard for us because i am the only one working.. At first I flet bad but as the day went on I felt angry. How dare she try to make me feel like I was doing the wrong thing!!

Thank you for letting me vent ladies. I dont' want to tell fh because he already feels terrible about not being able to find a job yet. God knows he's really trying but the economy is so bad.

Some people have absolutely no tact or class.

Don't worry, her kids probably got married in her backyard. For hor d'oerves the had pigs in a blanket from Costco and entree was the Family Dinner frim KFC!

I am really sorry to hear that... That woman is ridiculous... Maybe her childrens' wedding was just really cheap and cheesey and that is why she paid for all of them!!! Whatever!! Who gives a damn about what she says anyway... Who is she? Nobody... This is your wedding, your life, and that is it. Believe me I know it is hard to not feel sad, bad or angry, but try your best not to.. It is your wonderful and beautiful day. I suggest never again mentioning any wedding talk to her or around her again....

sounds like she is bitter and jealous and doesnt want anyone to have a better wedding that her own daughter's. WHATEVER!

what a horrible person she is!
i used to work in an office where there were two women who used to always tell me how i should live my life and how i was doing thigs wrong and what i should be actually doing....it really got on my nerves!
they even tried to tell me to end my relationship with my fiance because they didn't like him......the nerve!!!
