I have customers all the time who ask me how big my ring is and how much it cost. Then they start giving me a speech on how much he must love me and I should be good to him! I just want to slap them and tell them to get out.

I would have taken my fist with the ring that the carat size in her opinion is too small, and not worth it, and shoved it up where the sun don't shine, and then asked her if she still thought it was too small...I doubt she would have said No...

I just wanted to add that bigger is definatly not better. If this girl knows anything about diamonds then she would know that you could have a Flawless diamond under 1 carat and it could be better than a 2 carat that has flaws. And it would cost a whole lot more for a sparkling 1 carat!

I actually told my husband NOT to tell me how big the ring was right after we got engaged, so that I would not be able to answer that question if I was asked (of course I do know now.....) Only one annoying co-worker asked and when I said I wasn't sure, she actually held her ring up to mine to try to figure it out! I do know how big it is now, but I was actually surprised that only one person was rude enough to ask point blank, since I am constantly amazed by how bad people's manners are.

I have been asked that too... People are surprised at how small mine actually is bc the quality is so good and it looks bigger... But that is not the point... My ring is small but we just bought a house!!!! Couldn't have done that with a larger ring.

I would have been very upset as well. I had a similar situation...but not quite so public. I came in to work and my employer aske dto see me ring...she told me how nice it was and then assured me 'size doesnt matter anyway'. I WAS MAD!!!!!

That is so rude and i am proud of you for keeping calm!! #1..It's sooo tacky to ask someone the size of their ring. Just look and say congratulations...that's it...I never would think of asking someone how big their ring was. But so many people have asked me and then did the Jeweler's examination of it...like they really know what they are looking for. #2 Personally, it is not all about the size and so many people are so fixated on that. It's gotta sparkle and be clear also... and #3...Most importantly...It's not all about the ring...you need to be happy and in love!!!!
