Some pics =)

Some pics =)

My connection isn't the greatest today, and I'm having a hard time uploading to LIW photo albums and Shutterfly.

I was able to get 8 pics uploaded (out of 3 or 4 HUNDRED), so I'll give what I have for now.

Sistine Chapel

View from the top of St. Peter's Basilica- OMG, what a climb THAT was. About 500 steps, and at least half of them were TINY spiral steps (worse than the Statue of Liberty), with only a rope to hold on to. But the view was totally worth it!

Siena (Tuscany) - about a 1.5 hr bus ride from Florence.

Saw this written on the side of a college dorm in Siena - I actually had a tear in my eye as I took the pic, as it was so appropriate.

Venice

The view from our terrace in Venice

Lighting over Piazza San Marco (Venice), on our last night.

and finally, Venice from 30,000ft up.

Thanks so much for sharing. I love Italy. There is so much to discover. Even if you visit the same city twice. I go every summer. Venice is one of my favorites.

Really? Where do you stay in Venice?

I'm making FH come back with me - I think we're going to look into stay in Lido next time. This time, we were just behind Piazza San Marco, at the San Marco Palace.

thank you

I'll FM you a bunch of info - and just FYI, my parents saved $4000 by NOT using a travel agent. They booked air online, and researched hotels using several websites, then booked them through hotels.com. We did everything on a budget, and the hotels were fabulous. I'm talking 3 star hotels for just over $100 a night - i think that's a great deal.

FM!
