Some pics from my suprise vacation (Puerrrrto Rrrrico :)

For my graduation, FH suprised me and took me to Puerto Rico. A lot of things happened(nothing b/w Fh and I) that did not make it the best vacation. But we tried to make the best of it.
We stayed at the Wyndham Old San Juan Resort and it was beautiful and huge! Hope you enjoy the pics

Hi Theresa! Long Time no talk!

Everything is ok girls, just that we really wish we could've gotten a lot more out of the vacation than we did.
The night that we left, we rush to the airport, check only to wait at the gate for an hour and be told that the flight will be delayed. We were supposed to leave at 7:30, the flight didn't leave till 8:30. We understood so we didn't get mad or anything. Because of the flight delay we didn't get to the hotel in PR till 1am When we get there we find out that there has been a pipe break at the hotel and that they can't give us the room that we had booked. They said that they would give us a 'Parlor Room' (a really nice room, w/a sofa bed) and that the next morning they would change our room and upgrade us. They told us to leave our bags packed in the morning that they would change us to our new room the next morning. They also gave us $100 room credit which we could use anywhere in the hotel and 2 breakfast vouchers (which was good b/c breakfast the next morning was $50). So the next morning we get up we tell the front desk that we're up so that they can change our room at anytime. We go to eat breakfast and go hang out at the pool for a while. To make a long story short, they didn't change our room until 5pm And WE had to call THEM to ask if our room had been change, go all the way back downstairs with all of our luggage, get the new key and go back up to our new room. Which ordinarily I wouldn't care b/c I understand stuff happens. But the broken pipe was NOT our problem and FH paid over $200 a night to stay there. They could've been more accomodating. We were really happy with our new room though.
Anyway, so we get to our new room and I notice that my chest is all red and that I have a REALLY MESSED up sunburn. Then I look at my arms and notice that right by the armpit area, I have these red lines Peter was making fun of me b/c he thought I didn't apply the sun block correctly So I take a shower and when I got out I almost died. I had red lines on my arms, on my thighs and it looked like someone had drawn a painting on my chest. At this point my lovely FH was still laughing at me b/c he thought it was my fault So then he takes a shower and when he gets out, HE HAS THE SAME THING! His chest looks awful. White and red marks everywhere and lines on his arms We couldn't believe it. To make a long story short, I spent most of Saturday evening hysterical crying and wanting to come home. I'm usually NOT a crier. I know some of you make be thinking that a uneven sunburn is not that bad and I shouldn't have been that upset. But this was REALLY bad and I couldn't wear any of the clothes that I had brought with me (except the clothes that I have on in the pics above) b/c I looked like I had some type of disease. In the end we figured out that the Sun Block we had bought was DEFECTIVE (Coppertone Gel SPF 30). Fh and I went to the dermatologist and he says that we may have had an allergic reaction to something in the Sun Block. But that since FH and I are not gentically related, that it was very rare that this would happen. Well it's almost 3 weeks later and I still have the marks, only now they're tan and not red. So that has lead me to believe that this is NOT a rash and that the Coppertone was defective. I'm going to the dermatologist next week to see what he says.
And then to top this all off, our flight hom was supposed to leave @ 9:15 am. It didn't leave till 2:00pm Which I wouldn't have made a big deal about. But American treated us horribly. The only reason I knew that the flight was delayed was b/c I looked at the TV monitor. Do you think they made an announcement....NO!!!!

Even though all this happened, Fh tried to make the best of it. We didn't do as much as we wanted b/c the sunburns were really painful, but we went to very nice restaurants, went to the Casino (I won $100 ) and walked around the town. So it wasn't that bad. But it should've been better.

It looks like you had a nice time and that was very sweet of Peter to surprise you with a trip to Puerto Rico.

No matter how bad things were, it still seemed like a nice getaway and it was very sweet of him

But I'm glad that you got a vacation out of it either way!!! Your FH sounds like a gem to do that for you - what a surprise!!!! And congrats again on your graduation!!!!!!

My Fh is wonderful and I'm sooo lucky to have him. I thank God everday for him. I love him sooo much. And I'm very grateful that he did that for me. I felt more bad for him, since he had planned this for so long. But hey, we have the rest of lives to take wonderful vacations.

Christine: You don't see it in these pics b/c I wore those clothes on purpose to cover it up. I took pics of the burns (so I have proof of what this sunblock did to me) but I took them with a bra on, so I'm not going to post those here Peter and I are going to write a letter to Coppertone once I go to my 2nd dermatologist appointment.

so sorry about the sun tan lotion and the room and the delays. PS you got to be with each other and you will look back and laugh it you are not already laughing. Great pix
