r so clueless about weddings now a days! FMIL and I were talking last night, a friend of hers called to ask about how the wedding planning was going and FMIL told her not grt b/c money is really tight.
This women goes well how much do u give now when u go? $25.00?
FMIL was like NO more like $300.00!
and this lady was like 'R U KIDDING?'
And FMIL was like 'I got married 45yrs ago and $25.00 was alot! But we r in 2010 and u need to get with the times! If u give my son and FDIL $25.00 I swear I will spit at u!'

I was like:

Just wanted to share I thought it was hilarious!

FIL's long time neighbors are elderly people. When FH's brother got married, the neighbors came (the whole family living in that house) and gave him 30 bucks!!!

FH was like 'We are NOT inviting them!'

Seriously! Some ppl......I don't get it, but FMIL was like I AM WRITING THE THANK U'S FOR MY FRIENDS! AND WHO EVER SCREWS U GUYS ARE GONNA HEAR IT!!!!! B/c she had laid out hundreds of dollars over the yrs for her friends kids, so now she expects the same in return! but she is soooo sweet and really funny, but i COULD NOT stop laughing when she was telling me the story, so i HAD TO share it with u gurls!!!!!!

You know what's sad, my MOH got some monetary gifts for her wedding that were just $25. I felt so bad when she told me, I knew they were really hoping to make up for what they spent on the wedding. But I was glad I gave her A LOT more.

me too...I got 25$ from ppl as well....even better...my Exs family from Puerto Rico who werent even invited (my ex MIL decided to photo copy my invite and send it off!!!!) ERRRRRRR These ppl decided to come and 'surprise' us...I called it crashing!! funny thing is I never met these ppl and my ex-husband hasnt seen them in over 20 yrs! Anyway I got 10$ from them!!!! Total joke

I know, it's pretty bad. People gave us anywhere in between $700 to $25 per couple. Some people will shock you either way. I just wrote it off as it's what people could afford. I think the worst in my book had to be no gift from FIL!

omg, FBIL had an old friend bring A DATE FBIL didn't even know to his wedding and a few weeks later they were sending thank you notes and FBIL didn't see a gift from his friend.

He called his friend to ask what it looked like because he honestly thought the gift had been misplaced and he felt bad. The friend goes 'oh, i didn't bring a gift' like as if it was no big deal!

W T F??? You bring a strange biatch to your friends wedding and don't even give a dime????

oh and my ex BIL who makes $$$ didnt give us a gift....he,his wife and 1 son were all in our BP!! LOL
After a few months Alex (my x) called his bro and asked where his gift was HAHA I thought it was very ballsy to ask but I wanted him to do it since he were told 'oh we forgot your card' yeah BS!!!! I think his bro was so he sent a ck for 1k and said dont tell my wife!!! LMAO!!


oh and bc I cant stand them...I still sent a TY!! I mean come on...how rude is it if the and dont send a TY!!!
