Some quick raves!

Hi Ladies! It's been a world wind of a month. We had our wedding only days after hurricane Sandy and I am grateful that our wedding still went on and without a hitch.

I need to sit down and write a full review of all of my vendors but I have to highlight a few for now that really went above and beyond for my day!

DOC - Once Upon an Event - I had only hired a DOC to make sure the bagpiper I hired for my FH was an actual surprise. Well, turns out I needed them more than I thought! From the moment the storm hit, I lost power and cell service. Kristyn was my lifeline to the outside for an entire week, making sure all my vendors were called and accounted for and putting out any fires that occurred. Both her and Mara worked so hard to make sure my day went perfect. From calling Macys to get my dress out of a closed mall, to tracking everyone down, to finding me a makeup artist at the last minute. Kristyn even came to my house the morning of, just to make sure everything was going smooth and that we left on time. We never contracted her coming to my house but she insisted and did not charge me for it. They were both so great to have around on my day and I really feel if it wasn't for them my day would have not gone as smoothly.
I recommend these girls to anyone and everyone. Your day will not be the same without them around you!

Favors - The Sugar Chic - I had won an LIW contest for 100 cookies. We were all set for her to make them and ship them the week before the wedding. Well, once the storm hit and there was no UPS, she could not ship them to me. A few phone calls/emials back and forth and Melissa was meeting me in a parking lot just to get me my FREE cookies! And still wouldn't take a tip from me! Not only did she go WAY above and beyond, her cookies were beautiful and delicious! Everyone was raving about them.

Makeup - Christine Martin - I had originally booked with another makeup artist who unfortunately lost both her cars and her house during the hurricane. She was still set to come to my house the day of but had no idea she would be on a long waiting list for a rental car. Hours before my wedding and she advises me that she can not get to me the following day. One phone call to my DOC's and they were making calls like crazy. In comes Christine Martin to the rescue! She did have another bride the following day but since I was in the morning, she was happy to help and was at my house before 6 am and ready to go. She had such a great personality and I was so appreciative she came to me on such short notice. I was so happy with my makeup and it lasted from 6am till 10pm and I danced like a maniac and was sweating all over the place.

All of my vendors did such a great job but I feel these 3 really stepped up and made my day extra special. I will get around to reviewing the rest soon. If you have any questions feel free to FM me.

Happy planning!
