We met with our coordinator at our reception hall this past weekend and have booked appointments with the following:
Photography: Silverfox (who he raved about!) Sherwood Triart (again, he raved! Apparently they have won numerous awards for their work) ******** (a house vendor)
Flowers: Pedestals (his top choice and the name I keep hearing from everyone) With All My Heart
I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences, good or bad, with the above vendors or if they know anything about them.
I just read a few posts about Silverfox, both good and bad, and I saw that Sherwood Triart is expensive.
Help... feel free to FM me or reply directly.
Thanks!

Re: Some recommendations...
For some reason one vendor name didn't come up above... the other photographer we are meeting with is ********.

The ********'s mean it's a banned vendor from this site. Spread out the n a m e like that so we can comment on it!

Re: Some recommendations...
I vote Silverfox - they've been in business a long time - husband/wife own the place. I feel like they really care about their reputation. If you noticed the bad posts about Silverfox - it wasn't about pics - mainly album gripes that ultimately ended up being resolved. That's good customer service!
I hear that Pedestals is pretty expensive too... Don't know much about Fi ne A rt or With All my Heart....
Good luck!

Check out:
Velvet Studios, Patken and Duet for photographers. Their work is AWESOME!
Florists: Check out Flowrs By Burton. Their knowledgeable, friendly, and they'll give you a great deal. Every flower is one price! and their flowers last all day!

Re: Some recommendations...
I got flowers at Burtons and they were wonderful. They only charge you by piece and not by the type of flowers you get, so it is quite reasonable.
I haven't booked photo/video yet, but have seen Duets and there were great and affordable too. They've also gotten good reviews on here.

Re: Some recommendations...
We met with Pedestals and have had great interactions with them this far.
Nadia was really great to deal with and had a lot of the same ideas I did (before I even mentioned them to her)
Good luck!

Yay! We are seeing Pedestals on the 24th... we have three florist appointments in a row that day, so I am hoping that after that, we will be set.

Re: Some recommendations...
I can't wait to see what Pedestals has. Are they pricey? I have heard different things, but I guess it depends what you go with. How much are florists typically and how much is too much?
About Silverfox, our coordinator loves them, but I am starting to get nervous that we are going to love them too (their website is what first drew me to them) and not be able to afford them. I've heard they have an a la carte menu where you can pick and choose. It seems like the vendors he is having us meet with are all expensive, based on what a lot of people on this site have said.

Sherwood Triart does beautiful work and we really wanted to book them, but we just couldn't see eye to eye on the contract.

Re: Some recommendations...
Thanks for the warning... funny thing, my half sister is using Chuck from Artisan, but when I called them, they told me he wasn't available for my date :(
Is it worth going to Artisan anyway? Did you use them?
Sherwood I have heard has won numerous awards. Maybe they're more reasonable then I have heard... I guess it all comes down to what package you get.

Re: Some recommendations...
So we just drove out to F ine A rts and the person we were supposed to meet with wasn't there! They were all at a showcase. Someone is supposed to call us tomorrow, but I am wondering what happened. I called Silverfox just to confirm for tomorrow night and they had us in the book!
For now I am giving them the benefit of the doubt since our coordinator at the reception hall set up the appointment, but I wasn't happy. I left work early just to get home in time to make it.

Here's a link to the Pedestals thread with tons of pics from past LIW brides weddings
I just met with Silverfox last night and they were fantastic. The prices are great and you don't have to commit to an entire package at one time. You can contract for what you know you want and then add things on later, but you will pay the same price that whatever you wanted was when you booked, so if in 2008 I decide I want to add something else and the prices have gone up, I will still get the 2007 price.
