Somebody shoot me. I think I just talked my parents out of divorce

BAH
I hate my stepmother. Normally I wouldnt really be that upset from a call saying 'We're getting divorced' but you see.. I want my Dad at my wedding. Without the wench he can't afford it.

So.. I had to tap dance like a son of a gun with both of them.. BSing her.. talking my Dad through what to say and not say. (Why do some men act so stupid when they're wrong).

Got my mom (i call her that) on the phone a few times. Finally got her sniffling and crying. She loves Dad, she loves me but she's angry (and may I say rightfully so).

Who knows whats gonna happen.

When I called she was packing her stuff up to go back to Texas (though no one realized she has no way to GET there) and he was determined there was nothing he could say to stop her. She was spitting angry.

When I hung up, she was crying and sad, but FINALLY quiet and not screaming at the top of her lungs. He was humble and apologetic but apprehensive. (good combo when you screw up this badly).

*sigh*

We'll see what happens.

Should I mention there's three kids who would be devestated if this happens? Not because they care for her, but her income helps them live good lives.

but she has money?
or is it just that she has a little & he has a little & togehter that's enough for the kids, but just one of them would be a finacial strain.
If she does have money, I don't know what the legal guidelines are regarding child support if they are legally his, it may still apply if she is currently financially contributing to their care.

Little plus Little equals enough for them. But if you put it on paper my father's income is more.

One of my twin bothers has special needs. Nothing drastic just a bit behind his twin. They made a determination (Social Security office) years ago. His income is probably the bigger chunk of change in the house. It's like 1/3.

I think we have a strong case for her being an unwise choice to take the kids.

Anyhoo..
For now divorce is out. *sigh*

I've been trying to get him to divorce her from the day they got married. He thinks he doesn't want to have another failed marriage. Little does he know, it already is.

Thanks everyone for letting me vent.
