Correct me if I'm wrong, but why in God's name would you put a $600.00 croc pot on your list?
not to mention:
$125 candle sticks
$500.00 vaccuum
$300.00 tea pot (really?!)
$475.00 silverware set (not fine china set)
ummmmmmmm.....am I missing something?!
I think I'll just get her a giftcard....

I say -- to each his own... and I definitely agree with previous statements that the gift registry is a sort of 'wish list'
we too, registered for some pretty expensive items (i.e. - 600 dollar 8x10 rug for our living room) fully knowing that no one will buy it for us, but figuring we will use the 10% off registry completion benefit to get it for ourselves.
your friend might have a similar idea in mind. I wouldn't fault her for putting expensive items on her registry -- after all, no one is obligated to buy her anything

Re: Someone elses registry rant....
I think that registering for some expensive things is fine so that groups can go in on them, or your close family members can buy them. I think the most expensive thing we registered for was our pots and pans which my aunt and uncle got. But I think the fact that she has nothing under $100 is ridiculous. Personally I would just get her a gift card with whatever you can afford to give!
I feel like a lot of times people lose sight of whats important, which is not HOW MUCH someone spends, but that someone cared enough to get you anything AT ALL.

We also registered for some expesnive wish list-like items, since we've been living together. And FYI - Bed bath beyond gives cash in return

Yeah she doesn't have anything under $100.00. I mean I'm paying for my wedding and I'm not going to her shower..money's a little tight. Especially since we have four weddings to o to before ours.. I understand mixers and whatnot r expensive, their on mine too, but she's the type coughgolddiggercough. And gets whatever she wants so it's just annoying lol.
SHe doesn't have ANYTHING under $100? Ok, that's rude. I mean I guess you can do what you want, but registry etiquette dictates that you have things in all price ranges. Even if they really do just want the cash, they could just as easil;y return the gifts you got them and voila, they have a gift card they wanted instead of making you feel awkward because you can't afford a $300 gizmo
I knowwwwwwwww! I feel weird giving just a gift card but it's the only option! She told me she didn't want to register at bed bath bc it's not classy. *** I love that store!!! Lol shheesh.
Lol, I learned long ago that people who use the word, 'classy,' tend to be anything but! Get her the gift card and don't worry about it
