That's soooo aweful! Can I tell you that my DH worked at a major company and when they did layoffs they called the people out over the loud speaker! Can you imagine So everyone knew if you're name was called and you went into the office you were getting laid off. I think that's disgusting!

OMG Good luck! I remember the days that used to happen to us at my former job. My office was right next to HR and I just couldn't look up to see the people who were on line to go in! It was AWFUL! I am crying just remembering it!
DH was laid off...and I was PISSED!!! he started that freaking company and they repaid him by laying him off!!
but we are in a MUCH better place now...you just have to make the most of it
hugs and big severences!!

Shamee - my thoughts are w/you...I hope your job is safe.
Shamma - I think you meant SPARED, not SPEARED, which would mean Sharon would be canned!

Re: Someone hand me a diaper...
Whhhhewww (as I wipe brow). It's over. 8 in total. But there's more coming and we don't know when. I knew each and every person that got laid off. One was here 24 years. Nice way to show their appreciation. It ****s. I understand why they are doing it, but I don't want anyone to lose their job. I worked for a video game manufacturer several years ago and survived 3 rounds of layoffs. They would feed you a large italian lunch then tell you to sit at your desk and not move/make phone calls for 3 hours. The third time I broke down in hysterics from the pressure because the conference room they using to do their slashing and dashing was right across from me. I had just bought the house then too and was afraid I wouldn't be able to make the payments. Three years later, not much has changed. I seriously need a drink....

I've 'survived'rounds of layoffs at my current job myself and somehow even though I wasn't let go it doesn't make you feel any better. I'm glad that things turned out the way they did for you. We are having some crazy times here and am thankful to just be employed. Hugs to you Shamee

Re: Someone hand me a diaper...
When I got layed off from a major company my boss was not even in the office. She did it over the phone. She called me at like 10am and got my machine and left me a message to call her back. Then she sent me an email with the same info.
I knew my department was getting hit with layoffs and I knew that day was the dreadful day, but I was hopefull about my position, but I had a gut feeling I was going. So when I had a message from her I knew. I called her back and she told me my position had been eliminated.
Its very scary and a very hurtful situation.
Just be strong and when one door slams shut, their is another one open.
