How could someone talk negative like that. This board helped me SO much when I was planning my wedding. I still come on here too

The truth is sometimes things do get catty on this board, and every board for that fact. I DO NOT think anyone should trash us or LIW because of it though. It is sorta like when you fight with your little sister. It is okay if you say something mean to her, but not if anyone else does.
We all try to help, comfort, vent, and listen to one other here. I know it has helped me more than anything this past 1 1/2 years. An outsider doesn't always see the friendships that we have formed. She might have just read one or two posts that were not full of 'love' and judged too quickly.

seems strange...the newlywed board is really the least catty of all boards!! lol

I've seen cattiness and friendliness on ALL boards...

This site is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better! I never really found anything worthwhile on The Knot anyway. The Knot feels so impersonal while this site feels more like a 'community'!

I want to add my $.02 on this topic.

I have to say there is more useful info here then anywhere else. I enjoy the group brainstorming. (Even if I do get bashed every so often.)

I do have to say I love you guys and I am sorry I am going to miss the get together. I have a big month long training going on in November for work and it was planned for six months now. If I could blow it off I would. I would like to meet you guys maybe at the next get together.

I agree with all of you...This board has been sooooo helpful. Its great to know people are going through the same things both good ans bad as you espically when planning a wedding. Huggs to everyone

Sounds like it's someone who is A.) jelous of this great site and is not on it or a vendor who is not on it. B.) Is jelous of the great friendships formed here. I'll Ignore them> This site is so much better anyway.

I go on the knot sometimes but without I dought this site is so much more helpful! But hurtful sometimes too, I can speak from recent experience. Guess there is always a bad apple. It doesnt change my opinion of this site though, I will be addicted till MAY 18th!! or longer lol

Jenn - read my post earlier in the thread and it'll all be clear. Stacey27 (yes the same one) was accused of being a vendor or working for a vendor by a couple of girls on here. You can see it all if you read the Get in Tune DJ post.

Thats what led to her complaint posted on the Knot. The respose to her post on the Knot seems strange since it doesn't make sense on this board. Perhaps the second poster didn't know what site Stacey was referring to?

I try to ignore negativity as much as possible. But sometimes you just can't help but to get involved, especially if you feel you have a valid point to make. I think sometimes on the boards, people are trying to make their point, but the way it is presented is harsh. I am guilty - I'm sure many of us can admit that too...even if there was no intention of being harsh at all. This is electronic posting - no facial expression, no voice intonation, etc., so it's to be expected that sometimes wires will get crossed. The Emote-icons can only do so much. I just feel that what one person may perceive as 'catty' another may see as 'honest'...it's all up to the reader...

IMO, there is a ton of respect for each other here at LIWeddings. Once I found this board, I never went anywhere else. There are some you like, and some you don't, based on their comments, advice, etc. - just like the 'real' world. But overall I think this is a WONDERFUL place, and I'm a better wedding planner because of all of you. So let me take this time to say - THANK YOU!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

well said marnles! I am a former knot poster but couldn't stand the cattyness. LIW is much better and helpful. I do have to admit though, I still go over and peek at what new drama is unfolding! Sometimes it's better than a soap opera when your board!

It does get tense around here sometimes. For the most part, I think we all get along great. The people on this board have become invaluable to me in this whole planning process. But I really wish people would stop going to other sites and bashing the ladies here. If you have something to say ABOUT US, say it TO US. Soon there wont be any other wedding sites that don't have LIW bashing posts What is up with that?

I agree with ALL of you. Yes, every so often, there is a little disagreement on this site, but I think we all QUICKLY forget it and get along wonderfully. Since being on this site, other sites have NOT seen me I really appreciate our community.
Being all from the same area, I find that we can share so much, and help each other so much.
Members of other sites, I believe, are jealous of us, and bash us for no good reason.

I LOVE it here, and wouldn't give it up for the world. Thanks guys, for always making me feel right at home
