Someone PLEASE help me!!! Crying ALL night! Please help me.
I've been crying all night! I'm getting married in 18 days, & my wedding gown that I had originally purchased from Macy's is way too big! I mean I could NOT take one step in the gown because it was a good 9 inches too long. So, I took the gown to my own seamstress who almost fainted when she saw how huge it was. This would of course add to my $$$ that had to go into this dress. But it had to be done, so whatever. Now, I tried the gown on today & it just seriously doesn't have the same look as the original. I was in tears & my SIL said Get in the car, we're going to find you a new gown! So, we went to David's Bridal & found one that I really like! It would still have to be hemmed. It's not as sparklie as I'd like, but it fit & it was lighter. The Macy's gown was from the winter line & was so heavy. Then my SIL gave me a signed check & said, 'If you like that dress, then your brother & I will be happy to buy it for you.'
What should I do? With only 18 days to go, should I just stick to the original dress even though it does NOTHING for my figure & looks plain? I'm a size 6, but you'd NEVER tell by the way I look in the first gown because it's boxy & baggy. Link to David's Bridal Dress

it sounds as if u're leaning toward the newer gown. the pic looks really pretty on the davids site. if your original gown is making u so miserable, go with the newer gown

If the old gown does nothing for your figure, and these problems keep arising...its not meant to be.
If you like this new dress, it looks good, and someone is willing to pay for it...I say go for it!
And btw, I think its very beautiful!

Apparently you don't care for the 1st dress. It comes clear in your post.
Go for the david's bridal dress!
Is that a rack dress? maybe you can negociate for the cheaper price.
The david's bridal dress is gorgeous and the bodice is different.
You can try selling your other dress.
ETA: why is the original dress so big?

Apparently, Macy's loves to have the dresses huge so they can charge for alterations. But, hey- I signed the papers. No one forced me into buying it. But if I had known that the dress would be that huge, I would have said forget it.

I don't know how the david's bridal dress looks like but from what you showed us. I would have to agree with you. I look nicer!
Try to sell the macy's dress!
ETA: I am not sure about your finances but the david's dress is not THAT expensive and think about what it would cost you in alterations. Think about it. It's added expenses but what is $500-600 in the whole scheme of your wedding.

That is unfortunate. And it is actually pretty infuriating that they do that!
But you have to look at the positive - the new dress is beautiful and different and you still have time to get it!! 100% go with it!!!

Yep, I tried on the top one, but it was a little too small.

I say go for the David's dress. It's beautiful and it seems like it will give you peace of mind. Worry about selling the Macy's dress after the wedding.

You look stunning in that David's Bridal dress. The important thing is that YOU are happy with the wedding dress. If the altering the Macy's dress will make you happier, than go for it. If getting the dress at David's Bridal will make you happier, then go for it! You sound like you've written off the Macy's dress. And maybe to make things more sparkly like you liked before you can add rhinestones to your bouquet somehow, or if you haven't gotten your vail yet get one with rhinestones attached.
Good luck!

It is your wedding day and you have to feel beautiful in what you're wearing. I say go for the new dress if you feel much better in it.

I agree with Jen. The David's dress is absolutely beautiful, so either dress you pick will be very pretty! All I can say is follow your gut feeling and what you think you will be happy with.
I am sorry that you are going through this so close to your wedding!!!!!
Don't worry though, everything will work out and you will have an amazing day!!!!!!

Wear the NEW GOWN.......It might not be as Sparklie as you may have wanted.....but Think about how wonderful that your SIL would do anything to make you happy by trying to find you another gown and to pay for it! I Think you already have your Sparkle.... its your Sister-In-Law!
