This is the only place I can really get girl advice. Most of my friends are dudes and my girlfriends think just like dudes.

I am throwing a baby shower for my MOH. I basically doing it on my own and with the wedding it's really stressful. So I let out a sigh of relief when a friend of my MOH offered to help. Until yesterday. She messaged me Fri and asked what I needed help with and I said food. Everything else is already taken care of. So she was like if you want me to take care of the food I will its no problem just let me know how many people. To me that means she is going to pay for it. Am I wrong? Yesterday she messages me asking me how do I want to take care of the deposit. I'm like wait she just told me she was going to take care of it. So I asked how much is the food going to cost and shes like the menus and prices are online. Im like ok would you be able to chip in for food and shes like don't worry we have plenty of time. I'll handle it. I'm like I don't have all that time because I need to play a few wedding payments in Jan. and Feb so I need to budget for anything else now. So she says she will get back to me today. She has already ran to my MOH and is all like omg I'm helping Christine with the baby shower. What's left? The one thing I thought I didn't have to worry about, I'm now worrying about again. Please someone tell me if I wrong to be annoyed

ugh yeah id be annoyed. are you kidding? so you're paying for EVERYTHING and she's going to take the credit? no.

Screw it if I don't hear from her by next week I'm getting 2 6ft heros mozzarella sticks garlic knots salad and wings and theres the food. If she had said listen I can only afford to give you like 200 bucks towards food thats a totally different story but you dont say you will take care of it then ask me about a deposit. Honestly if all you are going to do is place the order I can do that myself from Ma.

Ask her straight up to pay for it?! I would..Especially if she offered to help.

nah, her mom doesn't really know about it, she's a little senile and sick. Her FH kinda likes to stay out of everything. I'll just vent to you guys =)

Yeah that seems really weird. I mean, anyone can call up a restaurant and place an order, but it's a really big financial burden to throw the whole thing, so if she is going to 'help' and take credit for helping, she should pony up some dough!

You need to be honest with her, just put it all out there. And if things don't work out you can do an amazing job with the food on a tight tight budget.

5 boxes of Dollar Store Pasta Salad (the dollar tree sells the name brand ones, but I prefer the no name brand) and one jar of mayo will go great with the hero and that ads only $7 to the bill.

I'm gonna wait and see what she says and I'm just going to be like ok I think I misinterpreted what you said. I was under the impression that I'll take care of it meant you were going to pay for it but thank you for clarifying. I'll somehow try to make it sounds less b*itchy because I want to keep good graces for the shower and not let MOH have to deal with drama

lol I wish I could cook. I was gonna do that in the first place but to cook for 35 the night before after coming down from Ma. I'll pay the extra cash. BUT I can throw a pasta salad in with my hero's!!!!!!!!!!!!
