Somerly at Fox Hollow

Any thoughts on this room? How is the food at fox hollow? I'm not loving that the entrace room for place cards is so small. From what I remember, you have to walk through the ballroom to get to the cocktail hour? Has anyone had their wedding here recently? Any other venue suggestions? We didn't like Venetial Yacht Club, Flowefields, Lands End, or Old Field Club. HELP!! :)

What kind of feel are looking for? How many people?

150 people. I want a new looking hall that is cozy. So many places we've seen look so run down and dirty.

Well, the Somerly is very new and definitely cozy. I'm partial to Fox Hollow, but it's up to you when it comes down to it. Tell them what you are thinking and if they can work something out, I'm sure they will. I heard, (so I'm not sure if it's true), that they are still upgrading that room.

I will be having my wedding and reception there in November. And we picked it out specifically because it was brand new. I included a review from one of the first brides to have your event there. I hope this helps.

Thanks so much. We are going back to look at it again with my parents tonight. Do you have to walk through the ballroom to get to the cocktail hour? How many people are you having? I am having 150 and remember the cocktail room & main entry being a little small. They said they are trying to get town approval for a new entrance. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything on that. Have you sampled the food?

I had my wedding in the Somerley. We had 155 people. I am still working on my review but I can tell you that everyone LOVED the room! It is gorgeous! The food is great. People had to walk through to get to the cocktail hour, but with the partitions up it works fine.
My issues were with seating. I wish they had put out more low tables along with the high bar tables (I asked but they said no). I think they are going to have to address the fact that the Lantern room is kind of small for cocktail hours. Although having the overflow of people on the dance floor works, there is still no place for them to sit.
It's fine for a younger crowd, but my wedding had more 40+ folks. We like to sit! Getting old sucks.

It works for me cause at the most we will be having 90 people there, so we will have alot of room. I don't mind walking through the ballroom either. They will have a movable wall up so you won't see them setting up.

They gave us a 75 person minimum, so we are hoping to bring it down from 90 to 75 again.

I am having my wedding there as well. i have a boat load of pics and a walk through video if your interested. FM me. The place is so new and clean it sold me and my fiancee on the spot. The seating for the cocktail hour seems like its going to be less than perfect but thats ok with us. I think its a hard RH to beat!

I was told a minimum of 140 people @ $100+ a head for the Somerley for the standard 5 hours? I think. Room looks really nice and new, I saw it right after they had there first wedding and they were still working on it back in I forget, april/may time?

Yeah, I was told there would be partitions in the ball room to get to the cocktail hour room. Wish they would have thought better of that when they were designing/building it!

How about the Winter Garden room? It's not bad and minimum is 100 people.

I'm biased, I love my place! Raphael Vineyard in Peconic!!
Issues though straight off is location, its really far out on the east end north fork and its seems dark for pictures, but its so chill and cool. I think you really need to get a photographer who is familiar with taking pics in the place. If you want a bright white/ivory ball room it's not the place for you. When you're in there though, I think its beautiful and so comfortable. It has a specific look. Definitely not anything like a catering hall if you are into that, like I became. You also are the only wedding there for the entire day and get a 7 HOUR reception. The ladies in charge are so so so nice.
Another big issue is cost! In comparison to places you've been, it's a bit cheaper than Flowerfield per head with a much lower minimum but when you add site fee then its much much more!
Oh also if you have a large party like 200+ flowerfield can accomodate its not for you either. 150 is just about right. I forget the upper limit on their guests.
Anyway, I love my place, haha, check it out if you're willing to go that far out east on the island!
