something about BM dresses....

i just dont like ANY of them for my wedding. i dont like the material or the colors... ive looked at 58945780 dresses and i saw ONE online that looked nice. i went to the store today to see it in person and i hated it!

BM dresses look different from regular party dresses, i guess so it looks more photogenic? i have no clue. i dont know why i cant find one.

i dont have a bridal party, only my MOH so its not too hard but is it ok to use a non-bridesmaid dress?

i would like her dress to be light blue and knee or cocktail length.any suggestions?

Maybe a dress from Banana republic or Ann Taylor they have better quality dresses than traditional BM dresses. They are a bit pricier but they do go on sale from time to time.

Try J.Crew! They have gorgeous dresses and your MOH can wear it again to another wedding.

Even if you had a bridal party, you could just buy the same dresses in several different sizes for them. They don't have to be designated specific 'bridesmaid dresses' in order for them to work in your wedding.

That's the best thing about being the bride -- DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the suggestion to give jcrew, ann taylor, or banana republic a try. But you could also just go to Nordstrom or Macy's if you see something you like. It's all about you and your FH!

Well I don't know what material you like but I would maybe recommend chifon dresses. That's what I'm having my MOH wear and it def don't look like the tradiitonl wedding dress. Jasmine has some nice ones both long and tea length. I'm not a fan of bit satin dresses which is why I went for a different material.

my sister's color was gold and i was her MOH- so we went to black house/white market and they had a pretty cocktail dress in gold-- it looked great. You do what makes you and your MOH feel comfortable:)

I would try Newport News- I know this sounds random but they have alot of dresses in there that they actually consider for bridesmaid dresses- and are usually pretty reasonable.

If you are just having your sister, stop stressing, and let her pick out her own dress. Tell her the color and length you want her to wear, and tell her to wear what she is comfortable wearing. This is one thing you don't need to stress over!

i felt the SAME way- why do BM dresses have to look so different then a regular dress- it was so annoying....
but it'll be so much easier if its just your sis getting a dress-
my favorite dress places to shop are Lord and Taylor or Nordstrom-and these are my favorite designers- ABS by Allen Schwartz, BCBG Max Azaria and Laundry by Shelli Segel
Good luck
