Something Borrowed??

So I have my something new, something old, something blue, but I dont have anything borrowed. I wanted everything to be new lol I have nothing that I can borrow- well that I can think of.

Can anyone give me some ideas of what I can do? I was thinking of having a friend buy me something and borrow it- and of course give her the money lol!!!!

Re: Something Borrowed??

Lol... I'm not sure if asking a friend to buy something you choose and then borrow it is quite in the spirit of the 'something borrowed'

I'm borrowing my DOJ from my step-mom. It sounds like you have that covered already. What about something small, like a toe ring from a BM or even a purse or something? I know you wouldn't be wearing the latter down the aisle, but it's still in the same vein.

Re: Something Borrowed??

I'm borrowing my FSIL's veil so that mine. Do you have everything taken care of already? DOJ, purse, headpiece, etc...

I agree though that giving a friend money to buy something and then borrowing it might not really count. But also will it bother you if you don't have a something borrowered??

lol, I know its not good to do the whole friend buying thing- but I just cant think of anything else I dont have a purse or earrings yet, but no one has anything I can borrow so thats why Im just so stuck.

I think it would bother me if I didnt have my 'something borrowed' because I would keep thinking it would bring me back luck...ughhhhhhh

Re: Something Borrowed??

I actually dont have anything borrowed either.. but it can be simple things like borrowing someones perfume or hankerchief to put in your purse?

there are specifics to this? I thought you could borrow from anyone, but now I read it has to be a married couple? Do you have to have it the whole day, or just part of the day.. like when im home getting ready?

Re: Something Borrowed??

I was going to borrow my mom's pearl bracelet, but it's costume, and now she doesn't want me to wear it because she thinks it's cheesy looking. So she wants me to buy the same bracelet I bought my BMs, but in white, and she'll pay for it so it's technically hers, and I can 'borrow' it by wearing it that day. I'm not sure if that's legit LOL, but probably what I'll do. She also is letting me use her old hankerchief for her wedding to put in my purse as something old, because she freaked when I said my something old was going to be my underwear LOL. I don't know if I'm borrowing that or just keeping it, so that could be something borrowed too.

I think you're supposed to have it when you walk down the aisle.

Re: Something Borrowed??

I think the idea of borrowing perfume from someone is such a sweet idea. It's also not very intrusive, so it would just be a small thing.

If you're really hurting for ideas, you could borrow a dime from someone just before you begin. But that might be too stressful.

I like the idea of using something in your bouquet! I was thinking of borrowing my servingware from my FSIL (she hasn't used hers once since her wedding day 4 years ago). But I suppose you don't walk down the aisle with that.

Re: Something Borrowed??

I'm just chuckeling at these ideas!
I hate the idea of borrowing something, but i do want to keep in with the tradition. i still havn't choosen my item either. i might just keep it simple like a bracelet from my sister.
