Something Crazy...

... was proposed to me. So, I gotta run it by everyone. At times there seems to be a few people that can go a wee little bit over board in their posts. Things like name calling, profanity etc. So, this is what was proposed. If someone goes over board they are exiled to a Time Out Board. They have to prove by their posts on the Time Out Board that they can post without the so called bad stuff. Once they do they can once again join the rest of us. So, what does everyone think of this idea?


I can't wait to see the replies on this one! Hold on to your chair batman, we are in for a doozy on this one!

I don't think we are in nursery school and time outs are needed. If you acted in the same way in the real world, it would not be acceptable.

I also agree....Maybe you should hire more moderators...So you have people looking through all the posts to make sure nothing bad is going on. I am a moderator at a civic board and this is what we do....You can also put a filter up that wont allow you to say certain words.

I think everyone will end up on the Exile Board.
I don't think it's a good idea...
I think there is an equal amount of give and take on these boards (especially when it comes to the back and forth banter)...Anyone who gets out of line (according to the sites rules) should be dealt with directly...

I can see cries of favoritism and whining of unfairness already. What is bad name-calling? Saying you're ugly or an 'idiot' or something more profound? The boundaries are too gray with this one.

I think it would get nasty..even worse than it already gets perhaps.

But the principal seems to be in the right place.

LOL , I find this to be a wee bit overboard, yes there has been drama , but I do really feel as though when you have been asked(multiple times) to step in ,you did'n't you did not lock prior to the name calling or whatever else. I am just saying that you can tell when a thread has taken a turn for the worst yet it is never stopped priorto the explosion of insults . I am personally guilty of some of this however I feel as though you favor people who have been here longer I am sure I am not the only one who has stirred controversy yet I seem to get in trouble, not only by you but others as well. I wish that maybe you could look further into this matter rather then what you have saw lately I am by no means a mean person and I have been called many of names on here and it was not stopped please show me where I have called people names???? other then in response to what they said to me first??It hasn't happened! Look I bet you will see I only insult when insulted, I have to stick up for myself no one else on here does it for me !

This is just my opinion !so if I am banned to never never land I will understand but I truly feel as though I have not really done anything wrong other than respond to people who continually insult me , my grammar, my intelligence. It is so confusing this whole NWR board I said once that we should just stick to planning a wedding as you said in your FM to ME (LIW )however if you look back I once again was jumped on
