Something Crazy...

On a serious note, though, I agree, we are all adults, which is why it’s surprising how childish adults can behave when they’ve got their keyboards to defend them. I see nothing wrong with some controversy – politics, dirty jokes, religion – spice of life, man. It’s healthy to share opinions and disagree, but when it goes from “I disagree” to “You’re stupid (or ugly, or tacky, or whatever)” it’s gone beyond the point of healthy disagreement and has turned into NURSERY SCHOOL behavior, maybe even deserving of a Time Out.

This is just my opinion – wanted to share it.

P.S. – I still think the Time Out board has potential to be a laugh riot…

I think that ladies who wish to name call say vicious things should get a warning. If they continue the nonsense, they should be banned. I have seen people banned in the past who have said much less offensive things than the ones I have been seeing recently.

Yes, sometimes people get heated, but for the most part, we all move on or make up over FM and that is the end of it.

Calling people curse words and making their weight an issue is so far beyond what I thought was permitted around here.

I agree! What purpose would the time out board serve? Wouldn't this defeat the purpose of someone giving their opinion - Being edited is bad enough in restricting opinions (I'm not including profanity in that- i have no problem with that). A Time Out board will either: stifle honesty or promote such behavior!

LIW probably has no intentions on doing it, they probably just want to see how many replies this post would get...

In an ideal world, we could all behave ourselves, and that wouldn't be necessary. Sadly, that is not the case!

I think a time-out board would be funny, less punitive than soemone being banned altogether. I mean, let's face it, we've all had our moments and gotten out of hand with some topic or person that touched a nerve with us.

I agree with Boogie, it would probably be the most entertaining board on LIW! All those high strung, labile people in one place - the sparks would be flyin'!!
