Alright ladies....I need your help. FH and I were talking last night and both agree we want something different for our reception. Have any of you heard of just having a cocktail party? Do RH even do this just this without the sit down food? Or what about a brunch? We want to have like 125 people so we were thinking maybe a restaurant with a big room would be better. Tell me what you think. Please help.

They might be able to give you the non-wedding package that has just a buffet. How about a cruise around NYC? I know someone who got married in Central Park and had her reception on a boat.

Some halls do the cocktail party. Check out the de Seversky Center. They do a cocktail style reception and a European Style reception (seated dinner and dancing afterward.)

Re: Something Different
we are having a cocktail style reception... all of the places we checked out while looking for a RH had this option... some places charge more pp, others kept the price the same. essentially, all of the menu items become passed hors de oveurs and the meats become carving stations... any more questions, FM me!
