something, old, borrowed. blue, sixpence in shoe...

HI.

Did any of you married ladies wear a sixpence in your shoes? Or do any of you plan on wearing one?

I read somewhere that it brings good luck to your marriage. I am just wondering if it is going to be uncomfortable?

Please share thoughts.

Thanks.

I didnt use A sixpence but instead used a 5 and 1 pence from England (current currency)...and I taped it to the bottom of my shoe with clear packing tape.

Thanks Stef.

Did someone give you your currency? I would not even know how to get a sixpence.

My friend lent me a sixpence that she wore in her shoe for her wedding 14 years ago!

I taped it to my shoe with clear tape as well.

I did the same as Stef, my mom had the pence. I saw sixpence in a card store actually, oddly enough!

Edited to say I didn't tape mine but let it jostle around and it never bothered me...I also had sling back shoes and it stayed up front!

Just to be clear I taped the coins UNDERNEATH my shoe because I knew having it in my shoe would annoy me.

I got the coins from a friend when I first got engaged but had since been in England and got six pence for Michele. Its just their regular nickel and penny...there was NO WAY i was going to spend several dollars for a six pence :D

I had my sixpence in my shoe(It didn't bother me, but taping it is a really good idea) I got it from Rebecca from Favorite Things(calligrapher)she gave it to me as a gift & I was thrilled to have it!

It was made by Cathy's concepts I think(not real currancy I'm sure)but it had a cute poem & a velvet pouch.

I got my sixpence from Rebecca at Favorite Things too!! I thought it was the sweetest thing - and I definitely plan on putting in my shoe (or taping it!)

My mom got me a sixpence from Ireland last year..I was going to wear it in my shoe...but I like the tape idea much better!

Anyone need a sixpence????

I have the place to go and get it & plenty of other things that you could ever need for your wedding & have a blast there too!

In one of the cottages @ the Milleridge Village - there is a store with a whole bunch of baby & wedding stuff in it.... That's where I got my sixpence!!!!!!

My sister gave me one too, and I tapped it on the inside of my shoe, because I had open toed shoes, and did not want it to fall out. But an hour into th erecption I took my shoes off, and it was time for the sneakers

Stef brought me back a 5 and 1 from England but didn't tell me about the tape I took the coins out of my shoes right before the reception began. The coins were driving me crazy. But I thought it was cute to have them in my shoe for good luck.

someone had given me a six pence that I slipped into my shoe before I left for the church. I was going to take it out at the recption but I forgot all about it and it stayed there all night!! LOL

Also, I did not want to wear a garter (usually that is where the blue come in) so I bought a small blue bow and had my mom sew it into the hem of my dress.

Good Luck!
