ok new: dress borrowed: some jewelry? blue: Rangers garter
old: something from my nonna who passed away in 2005 - dont know what yet
AND something from my nonna in italy. . .she passed away in the 60s when my mom was 16 and i am named after her. I always knew I wanted something of hers to wear for my wedding. But, a few years ago my grandfather died. . . the day of the funeral ( in Sicily) the whole town was at the cemetary. . . and these disgusting human beings broke into my grandfather's house and sstole EVERYTHING to the CARPETS, furniture jewelry, even towels!!!!! so we had nothing of my grandma EXCEPT for a handmade pair of underwear that she embroidered. . . she wore them when she was pregnant and they are HUGE bloomers. so my mom is going to cut out the design and sew it into my dress. . . its so nice bc she sewed them herself. . . then when i am done i have to send them back to italy for my cousin getting married there. . .i keep telling FH i am going to actually wear them!
I can't believe people would actually stoop so low!!
But that is such a great idea and it's a different and special way of remembering your nonna on you wedding day! And it'll be a new family tradtion that you can pass on!

Matilde... You're story about your nonna's granny panties (literally ), evoked EVERY emotion out of me... I was sad, I was angry, I was happy, I was LAUGHING!!! I think that's a nice idea to sew it into your dress though.
