Well I crashed in the 2013 board and read something that had me thinking. This bride to be had posted that she had checked out this hall but wrote 'it was old and rundown' however this other bride to be got upset bc she was getting married there....( the bride to be then apologized ) however this other lady comes and write ' you don't have to apologize about your opinion' ( why certain women are full of drama? Or trying to create drama -_-)
After reading this convo I realized that I need to be careful about talking negatively about a venue or someone's vendor, last thing i want is for someone's feeling to get hurt! Unfornately I've gone thru this :/ a lot of ppl don't really like my venue (Stuart Thomas manor) bc its old and rundown...and its ok for them not to like it....but the extra details kinda make me feel bad...
Well my point with this is...each of us has different styles and views about certain things and I hope we all get along and respect eachother...:)

Thanks for this post, meaningful and obviously what many of us have been thinking.
My hall is on the negative list for most people. But as i told my fiancee, its different strokes for different folks. I had other dreams but we both understand why we choose this particluar location. Plus at the end of the day the wedding doesnt change the fact that i am marrying my best friend. I would have hate to have speant all this money and it turn out horrible, but marriage isnt about a big diamond ring and fancy party.
I will say one thing, some of the reviews i have read make me question. Sometimes i read and am like why is the person so made over the little things that other probably didnt notice (flip flop basket next to wrong wall or seating chart was flipped). I know we all want perfection after all the planning but we all should come to terms with teh fact that there is no amount of planning to perpare you for every situation (hurrican sandy). All i am saying is dont let any of the little stuff ruin your day but if your flowers arent waht you order or your dj plays all the music you said not to..do whatever you have to do to get things to a better level.

I love this post!! Sometimes it's difficult for me to NOT voice my opinion on places or vendors I don't love. This board is what 99.9% females? We're bound to get catty, but this forum is really great with positivity. Thanks for pointing this out and making everyone conscious of what they say :)

I totally agree. You never know if something you say is going to hurt someone's feelings or make them second guess. We chose our venue because we felt a 'moment' there like it was 'the one' and the other day a friend if mine who is getting married in a few months (I'm one of her BMs but she's not mine so there's been a little tension) told me 'I wish you didn't book your venue! We went to a place the other day for a food tasting and it was so pretty wish you were getting married there' And the way she described it sounded exactly like SLCC anyway but it felt to me like she was putting it down (even though she's never seen it) Sorry, small vent, and 100% agree!
